What's your understanding of the word "friend"?

A friend to me is someone who is like a sister/brother. A friend loves like a lover, cares like a mother, protects like a father. A friend to me is more than a lover because when a lover breaks your heart, friend is there for you all the time. =) A friend is someone who understands your differences and flaws yet is still there for you. Someone who accepts your good and bad side. A friend tells you your mistakes on your face but never judges you, a friend helps you overcome your mistakes instead of putting you down and judges you for it. Sometimes you will encounter misunderstandings but when it's patched up, you can go on laughing about it after. =) You have a very good friend yimsiupang. You and her are lucky to have each other. I agree with your statement. I also have some friends who are like that. I used to have a group of friends whom I cared a lot. But it's sad to have known they would believe gossips than getting the real story. I only have few friends now but they're way better than my old group of friends. =)

Friends are a very important component of our socail lives. They are equally as important as having a family. Friends I believe, are like our second family, when our biological family, which includes our siblings and parents fail us or do not understand us, we seek refuge in our friend's opinions. We take shelter in conversations with them because we need someone to talk to. We can be open and public about our feelings with them and converse with them in a way that we are unable to do so with our actual family and relatives, a way that can be described as 'comfortable' and 'un-restricted'. I also understand that friends are our confidants, they supress our secrets in life and are our shoulders to cry on. We can have fun being with them, and partaking in activities with them because they have been selected by us based on their characteristics such as: Being the same age (as people of the same age usually go through the same personal problems), having the same perspective on things, etc. A best-friend is really justyou in a different body! I agree with you, friends are important to us. Several people considered me as their friend but I have only a few, maybe less than 5 whom I considered a true friend to me. Some of my so-called friends are just there because they needed me. I am sorry to those who really considered me as their friend because I really don't know at the moment. I once had close friends but they did something which angered me though we still talk but they're just considered mere acquaintance to me. It's hard to find a really true friend. From what you stated, I guess you have a very good friendship with Ian and hope that your friendship will continue to grow. I hope we'll also be friends.

Hello ! Yes,the relation of friendship is different from all other relations,the friendship is a relation where one know all about other.And moreover i think all the relations have limitation and we have to treat accordingly and it may lead a gap between understanding. But in friendship we almost share everythings to each other and it make easy to sort out the good and bad between both of them. Where it sometimes be harmful to one from another as both known to each other and familar to their nature,so one may play vilainious plot to other for his/her personal gain..... So be very careful while you make friend someone....

hi yim! a friend is someone who knows you and still accepts you for who you are. when you're with that person, you can be yourself. you can say or do anything without fear of being judged. a friend is almost like family. but unlike your family who "tolerates" everything that you do, a true friend is not ashamed to tell in your face if you're doing something wrong. this is because a friend helps you become a better person. you may not talk or see that person every day, but he or she continues to be your friend despite the distance or time apart from each other. so if you find that person or persons whom you consider as your friend, consider yourself lucky, and make sure to keep them. i'm happy for you yim, because you found a true friend.

A friend is someone who's so willing to know how you are doing despite of their busy schedules. Someone who could understand you no matter what. Someone you could talk about all your dreams in life. I am so blessed to have a friend or bestfriend who's like that. She's indeed the best among all my friends. Even if we do not go to the same school. Even if we often communicate. I am still not worried because I know she's always there for me no matter what happens. Despite of our busy schedules, we still find time seeing and updating each other. She's the very reason why I am not sad at times when I am alone walking down the street.

My understanding about friend is being with you in good times and bad times, will cheer you up and give some good advices, should treating you like a sister or a brother. True friend should tell you what is wrong or right, should not spoil you if you're not doing good.
