Laptop not for your lap

I was up till the wee hours of the morning. I work nights in a factory during the week so on the weekends I stay up anyway. I was posting responding to a tib bit about Black Eyed Peas when my computer just turned off.
It did it another time and I ran a virus scan which came up negative. Just after it finished the scan it cut off again.
I went to wake the bf (who has an associates in IT) and ask about a system restore and tried it. Still did it... Brother woke up and said "Do you have your laptop on your lap?"
DUH! Where else would it be when I am trying to keep from waking anyone?
Apparently I was blocking a vent just enough THIS TIME to cause issues. I have a USB fan but really didn't think I would need it.
I see the overheating issue as an OLD one and this is a NEW computer. I bought it only 3 months ago. (Dell Inspirion i3 core)
But Whatever.
It just really bothers me that a laptop isn't made for your lap!
Park in a driveway, drive on a parkway, who cares. lol

sad to say but yes, they said you shouldn't put your laptop on your lap, the other issue is that most female have a possibility that they cant have baby, because of laptop's radar cause through wifi, radar etc etc... but we must understood too the basic proper of using technology.. just to be safe put it on the table. :)

Due to laptops being so compact, the overheating issue is ongoing. They do make laptop accessories however such as a small lap desk.
I have found some at Best Buy for pretty cheap, and they also have some that come with cooling fans.
If you don't want to buy one tho, you can always make your own out of something hard, flat and small enough to fit on your lap..I have even used a top off of a heavy duty plastic tote :) {don't want the plastic to melt so make sure it is heavy duty}
Hope this helps :)
