although i try to believe that life is not all about money , but still the qualify of our lives affects our personal lives. regardless of my spiritual beliefe, that money is not the most important thing, but still it affects me in all aspects of my life even spiritually. money can make our lives peaceful also as we don't have to worry where we will get food to eat as we have money to buy food daily. so i don't think there is something unspiritual in having enough or more money to enjoy life. but still we have to balance things and not give too much importance no matter how important it is in our lives .

I have always disagreed with the phrase, "Money can not buy happiness." Having lived below the poverty level all of my life, I know that money does in fact effect your quality of life, and that will effect your happiness.
I'm not talking about not being able to afford the new iphone, I'm talking about having to choose between buying groceries or paying the electric bill.
Now, you can be too greedy with money too. If you are making enough so that your basic needs are taken care of, you should count yourself lucky and stop trying to keep up with the worlds billionaires.

I totally relate to what you are saying. We do not have to be a slave to money but we do need a particular amount to keep us going. I have been in the position of having to choose utilities or food. It sucks so bad.

Hmmm, i control money, not money controls my life.
I work, earn money and let money service my living, my need. Currently i just have enough money for living only, no money to buy my dream house yet but it is ok...life is like that and we have to go toward..

Money does effect us. We need it for the basic necessities. If we do not have the basic necessities we are always worrying about our financial problems. I believe in God and I pray every day for God to help provide for our family. So far it has worked even though things get tight. We just have to adjust to our circumstances and be aware that we are also responsible. Good luck with your journeys.

if you look at things from a spiritual view, its not having the money that is wrong, but the love and desire of having it that makes it a sin...
Im not religious at all and im not preaching..
I think that having money certainly can make our lives more comfortable... Better homes, cars, health care etc...
But do we really miss what we have never had? Our parents and grand parents came through periods where money was very little and yet they survived well...
I think it comes down to accepting your circumstances as they are, always striving to do better at the same time. Live within your means. It also comes down to our inbuilt survival instincts... if you dont have the money to purchase food, then you find another way to get it...

see hotsummer I agree with you ......
But unfortunately we live in materialistic world where people are getting blind by having more and more money ........
I dont know when this materialism in our society will stop......
And fact is that money is only part of life and not the whole ........

Money. was very influential in my life. Because, I do not have the money, I am controlled by the people around me. I really wanted to, could have a lot of money. Not to buy luxury goods, or simply to eat. But, to free myself from my addiction of others.

Actually I think there is no conflict between money and spirituality, For people who believe there is a God like me, God is the richest being cause he owns the universe so being his children we are also entitled to wealth, what ever wealth he entrusts to us (not all the time money but it could be in the form of talents, nature, health etc... or instruments to make money). I think how we spend and share it shows how good stewards we are.

I agree with you. Having enough money to take care of our needs and some left over for savings really does help us. We do have to keep a balance as we can end up developing a love of money which isn't good. We will then not be content with what we have.
