Before my boyfriend left for boot camp, he gave me a bunch of his shirts from his old job at Outback as well as some of his older shirts that no longer fit him. I love it when he gives me his clothes to wear...a while ago he gave me a jacket of his and i love cuddling up in it.
Last night I put on one of the shirts to go to bed and the shirt I grabbed still smelled like him and his house. It brought back so many memories about him and I started to miss him..but in a good way not sad or crying. Even while I was falling asleep I could smell the shirt and it was so comforting to have while I fell asleep.
I love that I can still smell him but I know I'll be sad when the shirts are all washed and no longer smell like him :( Hopefully by that time I'll be seeing him at his graduation and maybe he'll give me a few more shirts of his to have.
But for now, I get to enjoy the ones I have and hopefully his smell still lasts on them.
lol I forgot to mention that it's not a B.O. smell, it's just the way his house smells and the way his body naturally smells without being sweaty. Lol I didn't want everyone to think I was crazy smelling a sweaty shirt of my boyfriend's

this is so honest and sweet. you must be so in love with your boyfriend that you keep memories associated with his shirts. i have never thought of this. now, in my mind, this is possible. i must be open of giving a shirt to my partner. i am not sure though if she is going to like it. but i must try.

She might like it. I know I love it when my boyfriend gives me shirts of his to have. That way, even when we're apart, I still have something of his with me. now that he's gone for a while, having his shirt makes me really miss him, especially because the shirts smell like him and his house.

This is really sweet. I hope I can find a girl like you. If I were you I won't wash it. It won't smell bad since you are not sweating on it because you only use it when you go to sleep right? How long will your boyfriend be gone? I'm sure that you'll have a really romantic time when he gets back from boot camp. :D

Yeah, I might not wash it. He gave me a bunch so I still have a lot more shirts with his smell on them. He won't be back home until October, but in july I"m flying out to see him at his graduation and I think I might be able to see him for a day or two then.

How sweet. My partner also did that. We are currently in a long distance relationship and for me not to miss her that much she send me a stuff toy with her perfume on it. She also gave me her old shirt.

This is more common that some people may imagine. Smell is a very strong sense. Sometimes we don't even realize how much smell is a part of someone until they are gone and all we have left of them is something they have worn. Or maybe you don't understand it until it happens to you. Some women "brand" themselves with a certain scent they always wear, and if they break up with a man, a man still may think of his ex ten years later because he smells that same fragrance when he passes a woman on the street who is wearing it.

Yeah, that's true. I would always notice my boyfriend's scent on clothes as soon as we were apart. Also, if he hugged me sometimes his deodorant would rub off a little onto my clothes and when I went home I would wonder why I could smell him as if he were with me. I've always loved the way he smells and I'm glad I have that reminder of him on his clothes. For me, being able to still smell him kind of keeps the memories alive. Being apart for so long I start to slowly forget the little things like that since we aren't around each other all the time like we used to be.

Oh, I think you are missing him so much! If you want to retain the smell till he comes, you don't use his shirts, keep it aside with you. Whenever you miss him, take the shirt and smell. So, that you don't have to wash it and the smell will remain till he is back.

that's actually a good idea. Maybe I'll save the rest of his shirts for just "smelling" and then only wear the ones I've already started wearing and have washed already. He gave me a bunch and I've only worn 2 so I still have a whole pile that have his smell all over them

Well, I had a similar experience like yours..
My lover held my hand, my fingers for a while, so tight and left it when he had to go.When I got back to home from town, unknowingly my fingers came to my nose, that I smelled it, and it smelled like him, so sweet and I kept smelling, like crazy, kept smelling. It was unbelievable and pleasant reminder of being with him....
