Original, "Family Feud" Host Richard Dawson Dies

Oh goodness. I did not know this. I remember his distinct voice saying "And Survey Says!" He had a very distinct voice. I also remember those wild plaid jackets he wore..... He also played a role in Hogan's Heroes as well. He was Corporal Peter Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes. I remember he was the go to guy to get what they needed. He will be missed.

He was the best host of the Feud and I think the show has steadily gone downhill from there.He did a good job spoofing himself as the game show host in the Running Man, which was otherwise a lousy adaptation of a Stephen King novel. Hard to believe how much time has passed but Robert Clary (LeBeau) is the last memeber of the cast from Hogan's Heroes still alive and he's 86 years old.

Its been terrible lately with to many people passing that I enjoyed watching on television. Richard was my favorite Family Feud host and it was hard to believe that he found the love of his life on his show. He married her and they had a daughter. est in peace you will be missed.

I loved Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes, well, I liked the entire cast actually. I'm sorry to hear about his passing (actually heard about it from the roomie earlier today.) He did smoke like a chimney tho, so I'm not terribly surprised about the cancer.

Oh, no, Richard Dawson was my favorite host of Family Feud, I cannot believe he is gone. I shall miss him. May he rest in peace.

I loved Mr Dawson on Family Feud and also Match Game (he was one of the three regulars on the panal along with the late Brett Somers and Charles Nelson Riley). Brett Somers was married to Jack Klugman of The Odd Couple and Quincy and Charles Nelson Riley was a Broadway Actor and writer. Randy just looked up and realized that Ray Combs and Richard Dawson passed away exactly 16 years apart (Ray passed away in 1996 and Dawson passed aay in 2012).

never a fan of family feud, hubby and i enjoyed Richard Dawson from the series 'Hogan's Heroes'. that was when tv was good!

Aww really? I didn't know he passed recently I remember watching the Original family feud as a child with my parents and sisters I also remember how we would shout at the TV and try to answer the questions Well sigh! that's sad news to read he was a good host and I'm sure his family will miss him my thoughts go out to them.

I remember watching family feud all the time. I thought dawson was a great host. This is sad news.
