Today, i found a tweet by Barack Obama. It says that women are paid less than man. And it also states that on average, full-time working women earn just 77 cents, for every dollar a man earns. Are you aware of this fact? And the serious consequenses it brings? I am not an american citizen. But if you are, you can vote for 'Equal Pay For Equal Work' in their official website. What is the reason for this trend. Paying less for women!! What gender have to do with the job?. Do the people think that women are ineffecient or less efficient than men? what's your opinion?

I am aware of the lack of equal pay for women doing the same work of a man. At least, I am aware of it in an intellectual way, but have not encountered it personally. This is not something new to the Obama administration.
I have already signed a petition demanding equal pay for equal work.

It's b.s. women make more. If Obama's ladies aren't getting paid enough then he should pay them more.

I've worked at a lot of different types of jobs and I've never met a woman that was making less then me for doing the same work. Usually they work a lot less but get paid the same or more. Usually the less a female works the more she makes. You know the one that's got time to gossip and flirt with everyone. And us guys are suckers. We buy that woman aren't treated equally stuff, and we want to play knight in shining elbow pads. So we do most of their work for them to show them how manly and progressive we are. And while were doing all the work they're thinking "This is so hard. I need a raise." In all my working life from the age of 15 I have never had a job where a female doing the same thing as me made less. And I've worked with a lot of chicks all over the United States.

Of course women are payed less, this is nothing new and Obama is not comming up with something new. It's already proved world wide that women work way harder and even if they do exactly the same they get payed less, also get way less promotion as men (who seldom are higher qualified or have more experience).
Why? Because they are men, they make all the rules. And yes this is dicrimination but nobody seems to care about that. It's just a lot talking about same rights but nothing will change. It's already like this since ages and it will always be like this, as long as there are men.

From your words, i can understand that you are hopless about this trend. Although Obama is not coming up with something new, i think his work is appreciable. Can we do something for a change, i mean a revolution? Can we bring some laws which can ensure the rights of women? Our complecency have also role in this trend. What do you think?

Let's look everything positively. It has come to Barak Obama's attention and I think it is possible that evrything will be equal in the near future if not just a bit improvement. Discriminations still abound but not as strong as before. Maybe people are now becoming aware of the unfair condition of discrimination. So let us hope for the better.
There are women who can do better than men do so I think it is only right to implement the equal pay for equal work if they have plans to do so. Pay shouldn't be based on the gender of a person. In reality, we have different compensation level since the current rule is it depends on the company's discretion and our skills.

This has been going on for ages. Men have ALWAYS been getting paid more than women. Is it fair? No, absolutely not. Women and men should both have equal pay for the same jobs. I think it only fair. If a man and woman do the same kind of job, and they are both good or great at what they do, and they both do that same job well, then they should both get paid equally for it.
Also, the way that women are treated in this country if they have to take a maternity leave is just terrible. It's like women are not supposed to work and have children. I think that too has to change because many women in this country are single mothers. How are they supposed to make it if they don't get some help?
I am an American Citizen, and I know that men still get paid more than women, and I know that discrimination still exist in the workplace. Men will usually get certain jobs first, and women have to play the waiting game. That's how it is.

Yes, its a hard fact and such discrimination is carried from generation to generation if no voice is raised.women from the very beginning are struggling for equality. The problem is that we inter-mingle the biological differences with social differences.Where male and female are two different entities with different functions as biological beings but when a conception of physical superiority and inferiority are attached the problem of inequality arises.Making it more simpler women are twice as efficient as men because they not only mange the professional domain well but at the same time turn out to be best domestic player as well. The household duties which are never rewards and are by defaults considered to be a females responsibility further adds to inequality and more appropriately termed as unpaid labour.Obamas focus on this issue atleast will give a boast to the wave preaching equality in pay and the parameters of judging a task are efficiency and not gender index.
