So I'm still hanging out at my friend's house with the loveable Jack. My friend didn't feel well so she went to lay down, and I was still up reading of CreepyPasta.com, well they're supposed to be scary stories and most of them aren't. But I was reading one that really gave me chills, called "Witness" Now that I've calmed down it seems silly, but anyway. I had just finished reading "Witness" which includes a knocking that occurs before death. I'm tired, bipolar, and have anxiety disorder, me reading anything freaky at night and alone is a set up for a panic attack, and comedy for others who I wake up. Well, Jack was in the kitchen playing and I didn't know because the last I had seen him he was curled up in the chair asleep. I assumed for a long nap, because he's been following my around most of the day. And suddenly I hear "tap tap tap" and jump out of my skin and chair, and did I mention screamed loud enough to wake up my friend. Well, while she was running out I looked into the kitchen to see Jack playing with the cabinet door. That was tapping I heard. He just looked at me and walked over and jumped into my lap once I sat down. I then had to proceed to explain to my friend what had happen. All the while Jack had this smug look on his face that just said "Chicken" lol

You HAVE to get the riot award!!! I ache from laughing! Leave it to the cat to scare the living crap out of you when you've read or heard a spooky story!!! My cats are sitting here staring at me like I've totally lost my marbles...why are you laughing so hard??? Are you sure that his look said "Chicken"? I would opt for the traditional "Gottcha" that cats have when they pulled a good one on us. I have been there too. Not the same way, but I managed to scare the daylights out of myself. I was living in Montana at the time and the late news broadcast stated that a convicted murderer had escaped from a nearby prison...and he was last seen headed towards the town I lived in. Of course being young (mid 20's) I was sure he was after me! I locked all the doors, checked the windows to make sure they were locked. (Looking back that was futile...if he wanted to get in he could break a window...) I was pacing the house worrying when I heard a noise in the back yard. I raced to check, trembling in my shoes because I was positive that it was the murderer coming to get me...I slowly raised the curtain in the window facing the back yard, and OH MY GOSH!!! THERE WAS A FACE LOOKING BACK AT ME!!! IT'S THE MURDERER!!! I screamed my a$$ off, waking my toddler daughter, then somewhere in the fog of youth my logic circuit took over and I realized that I had seen my reflection in the window. After getting my daughter back to sleep; I had a couple of stiff drinks and then I crawled in bed and passed out. The next morning the news stated that they caught the guy three miles from the prison...about half an hour after the guy escaped. Of course they couldn't do a news break to let people know...

Haha!It seems that you were enjoying your story although it's scaring, and then you mistakened your cat as a horror. Sometimes we really have a kind of experience and feeling that bring us to a similiar world ,affect our mood and then the mood affect the surrounding things. For example, I like watching horror movies like vampires, and if I am addicted to it sometime, I will think if there will be an vampire coming tonight. Funny spiritual condition, right ?

I don't normally consider myself to scaredy, but after we were broken into the second time, I had a really bad dream that was SO real than when I really did wake up, it had me really spooked. So, who can you call at 3 a.m. in the middle of the week? (Mind you, this was WAY before the internet!) I looked up and called the "Help Hotline". Now, I started by saying that if they had a big crisis that my problem wasn't major. They informed me that it was Spring Break and I wasn't interrupting anything, it was really quiet. So, I talked with this guy for almost 2 hours until I was calmed down enough to go back to sleep. The next day when I told my then roommate about it, and she told her co-workers, they all told her that she would've been AWAKE if it had been them. They wouldn't have let her sleep!
