The correct quote is "Geology isn't a real science!" (Season 5 Episode 1, “The Sk@nk Reflex Analysis”) He says it as a challenge to a rival team (of geologists) in a paint-ball fight and they promptly shoot him down. It is consistent with Sheldon's views on other subjects (for example, his disparagement of Engineering) and with his general habit of making off-the-wall statements. Sheldon tends to believe that many other scientific subjects which are not at the cutting edge of theoretical physics are less important or 'not real science'. In fact, the statement is not original (but it may be an intentional misquotation by the writers of the series). It often used to be said by people studying Sciences that 'Geography is not a real science', probably mainly because Geography was originally one of the subjects in the Arts discipline. Both Geography and Geology are now included in the Sciences and both, more especially Geology, are 'real' sciences.
