We spend our weekend at the farm, had lunch and enjoy the beauty of nature. Suddenly someone went to us and inform us that our dog was found dead on a grassy field. My uncle went in a hurry to verify and it was ours. The bystanders said it was hit by a vehicle and etc. We're not convince because our dog legs was tied with tie-box and her body was intact but half of her skin was pealed of, revealing her muscles and it has odor.If the accident was about an hour ago why is it has odor, like it's been dead for a day. Day before the accident our neighbor eat his pet dog and bought one from his friend and been drinking for the entire day.
Do you have the guts eating your pet or selling it to someone who love dog meat? Do you know someone did this to his/her pet? Have you eaten dog meat?

I think all living things have emotions, even flowers. There are people who think differently and don't care. When you look into the eyes of dogs you can feel them too, how loyal they are. Here's an experience with a dog that i would like to share to everyone. I was down and no one there to listen, may dog went near to me, stare at me and lay down besides me, i felt comforted. See, even dogs know how we feel. They can sense it.

I will never eat dog meat, it's too cruel. Dogs are just like humans, we see them in our daily life, making them part of us. Eating them is akin to eating one of our fellow human beings. The same goes for cats, i won't eat them either. I don't understand how can one eat household pets and it's something they have feelings for. Can they really be that heartless? I will never sell my pet to anyone who has a past record of eating dog meat. It's a sin.

While we were touring East Asia we attended a Farmers Market in Laos, where we saw dried rat meat, deep fried maggots, and wild cat, which was a protected species in Laos. We ate a Cobra snake, Dog meat was offered, but we declined. We noticed that there were very few dogs in the streets of small towns and villages, which we thought was because they had been eaten, all ready!

Oh. Aren't they protected by law? It's so sad to see dogs suffer through mans action. Does Laos belongs to one of the country who has greater number in poverty? That's why they opt to eating their pet dog? I'm not familiar with their culture though.

No, i never eaten dog meat and i don't plan to.. I think your dog was definitely eaten, that is just sad.. I can't imagine eating a dog since it is man's best friend...it's like eating another person for me. I'd definitely bury it, with a cross/name too.

No, I could never eat a dog period or selling it either. I would be flipping if someone even touched my pet, let alone eat it. My Dad and brother keep saying how tastey Marco (my pet rabbit) would be. But they know if they did they would be going in the pot right after.

My dad also introduce rabbit meat and asked me if i want to taste it but i decline. I've been quiet for awhile, think and asks my self why he's doing it, rabbit is a pet and i have one at home. How come he's asking me if i want.

I am sad for you that your pet dog has been murdered and eaten, simonelee.
I could not eat my pet dog. I was a farmer for awhile, and I was not able to eat any of the animules with whom I had a relationship. I have known other farmers who would have to trade their livestock with friends, rather than eat the livestock with whom they had grown fond.
If I was starving, or my family was starving, and there was no other recourse, I suppose I would consider it, but I hope that it never comes to that.

Hi! nice to see you here. I hope all farmers are like you. Those people who murdered our dog are farmers too. They too eat their caraboa who help them in plowing the soil and lifting harvested crops. My late grandad do the same thing too, he sell or trade his livestock than eating it.

Is there anything you can do about the people who murdered your dog?

Definitely gross! same here, i won't dare to try. I haven't eaten any of my pet nor any food that are unusual for me. You mentioned fish, 3 years ago our flowerhorn fish was fed by my little brother with fried rice and kill him instantly. Our neighbor ask for it cause they said it's tasty. Yuck! I bury it at our backyard so no one could ever touch it.

No I wouldn't eat a dog. It's disgusting to me. Maybe back in the day when dogs were wild people ate them, but now dogs are like people. They're part of the family. You wouldn't eat a family member. I guess I can't really judge someone as a bad person for doing it, but if it's not their dog then yeah, that's wrong. If they're going to eat a dog they should get their own dog to eat.

Yes, i have eaten dog meat when i was just a kid. My mother's brother made me eat it, while he was having a drinking spree with his friends. I can remember, that it did taste good and was cooked in tomato sauce.
Though that was the first and the last. I never ever want to have a taste of it ever, because i know that they are not meant to be eaten like pork meats by humans, and that they are meant to be pets.

I don't think anyone over here is eating dog meat so it's useless to try to sell the dog.
But if it comes to what is custom/habit/normal... meat is meat and one should not care if it's a so called pet or "less" like a cow, pig, sheep, goat or chicken. Who says a horse is a better animal as a chicken? I think it's kind of hypocrite if you do eat the pig you don't know but not your own. This doesn't mean I would "hunt" for the animal of someone else and try to sell that one or eat that one. I think if you do that it's stealing someone's property. I never ate dog meat only heard the meat does keep you warm.

At the farm eating dog meat is normal to them, they don't care either bought or stolen as long as they have something to munch when their drinking. I hated them much because they are also know addicts in the community. Yes, those people I've asked why they love dog meat because of the reason the comfort of warm they can get. If only to warm their body why don't they eat carabao meet rather than eating someones dog!

I would think that al of these things concerning how the dog's legs were tied and the skin was peeled off ( I'm grossed out just typing this, and holding back on throwing up BTW) that indeed this was not an accident. I'm guessing someone did do this to her and I feel so bad she had to go through this, it isn't right. This neighbor you said ate his own dog is absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure what they do in your country but here it is barbaric and abuse to do that. There are people who get arrested for such things, and so they should be. A dog does have feelings, and emotions as does a cat. That is why they are domestic animals and should not even be considered to be meat in my own realization. I would rather starve and eat veggies all day long than eat such a thing, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I'd shoot myself first.

We have laws protecting the animals but was not properly implemented and people are not afraid to put in jail since the law is weak and most cases apply in capital city. The incident happened in farm, no one cares. Plus the organization fighting for the rights is not as big as our government. Local officials are aware but they ignore and tolerate. They too also enjoy the meat. For them animals are not as important as human, that's how i can see it.

I'm cringing with that thought. I love my dogs and there's no way i'm gonna eat them nor any dogs for that matter. I do understand that in some places they raise dog for food. That's another story though.
But in my case, i just don't have the stomach to do it.
