I got my new laptop in the mail and I just set it all up. I love how the keys on it are really big, and spaced out. Also, the 15 inch screen will be fine. I usually get 17 inch to 24 inch because of my sight. I just find it rather slow compared to my other one, but my Dad said it has a different processor which is why it is slower. But I guess it will do for now as this is all I can afford for the time being. But if it gets things done especially MyLot then Im happy.

You can always see about trading it in or selling it somewhere in the future when you've come up with the funds to get a better laptop. It may be you get used to how slow that one is compared to your old one. Are there more programs on there, and if so are they ones you need? I don't know that much about computers anymore but if you remove some maybe it will make it a bit faster for you.

I agree that it is a great idea to uninstall unessential programs that slow down your computer, but you should be careful that you do not uninstall anything important!

Ooh, fun!
You might be able to speed it up a bit by upgrading the RAM in it. My husband's and my laptops take the same RAM chips. If your old one had more RAM than the new one does, maybe you can just swap the chips.

first of all i really congrats for your new laptop i am really happy for you.
you said that the proccesor is slow or something , is the laptop used , does it have a virus.
if you want to check for viruses go and search for avg anti virus free its really good anti virus program.
if its slow and there were no viruses please remove some unneeded programs go to the control panel then go to add or remove programs then you will find all the programs you need.
also internet can slow your computer by getting into sites that give you online slow virus which not good and hard to be removed unless you buy internet security.
you can use the internet for funding money and buying a better one.
i am really happy for you but you need to use the computer on the right feel its like your son or mother and it will be the best computer in the world.
i am not a computer specialist but this is the basics on computers.
greetings stragerx

Goodnews 911Ricki,
But don't you think it will not make your internet experience not interesting. As you wait for times for it to process. I really would not like it. But if it is a gift, I would appreciate and see if i can upgrade the processor. Anyway enjoy the laptop. I want to get one new laptop this year too

Congratulations Ricki! At least you have something new to tinker and do mylot.
I would like to have a new laptop soon too but as of the moment mine is pretty new and useful. And besides I don't get on it much except for work. I like working in bed and my ipad is more comfortable though it doesn't do the job as much as my laptop could.
Have a nice day!

As I remember it also cost less, that's probably a reason it is slower. However I know that can't be always true either. I have a mini Dell Laptop... that only cost $119 and I got a $100 rebate so it cost only $19... it's pretty fast.. I expected it to be very slow... but it wasn't.
