It is now seen that pickpockets are coming down in our place, may be all over the world especially cities. May be the new electronic way of money withdraw cards like debit, credit cards etc might have affected the art of pickpockets. Still at times I feel for that too one need talent to do pickpocket. There were trainers for doing this too. But now situation had changed a lot. I had experienced being a victim pickpocket when I had to travel in bus in New Delhi during the year 1999. Later I had been very careful in keeping my wallet.

I've been a victim twice :( not my wallet but my phones which are too important for me not because of it's model but it's a gift from someone important to me. I really want to kill the thiefs who get my phones, anyway it happened long time ago. It's just a material which can be replaced, what's more important is that i'am still alive posting here :P

Hello Shamrack, I never been a victim of pickpockets but my friend was the victim of pickpocket when she back home by bus, the bus was full so she had to stand up and unfortunatelly somebody used the opportunity to steal her wallet. After that we are being so careful not only when we use public transportation, when we go to street market or anywhere crowded of people someone might use the chance to steal our wallet. Yes, they are trained to do steal other people's valuable things so we need to be careful when we go to a crowded area.

So far never been a victim of it and hope it won't happened to me but a friend of mine experienced it.The snatcher tried to get her wallet in her bag by slicing some portion of her bag by cutter.Luckily her wallet was in the most inner part of the bag so it didn't get but the bag was broken. We really to be careful and alert in going to public and crowded places to avoid act like this.

I was once been a victim of pickpocket in our place. I took a ride on a jeepney, one form of public transportation in our place. I put my cellphone on the outside pocket of my handbag. Then the passengers came rushing in so I did not noticed that a man got so near. I just found out later that my cellphone was missing.

Hi Shamrack, about two months ago, my wife was 7 months pregnant when she had been in an overcrowded bus, standing up. A guy holding his jacket with both arms was quite pushing her. He managed to take her wallet from a small bag without being noticed. When she got down from the bus, she realised what happened and got panic, I tought she was gonna give birth, could not calm her down for about two hours. After a month a guy working in a shop selling pies, in a shop just beside a bus stop called us, he said that the flush of one of the toilets suddenly stopped working and when someone came to fix it found my wife's wallet in it, blocking the floater. From that day, when I go to a stadium, or a crowded place, I take no wallet with me.

Yeap, I have been stolen for only once. So I remember the process very clearly. It was on a bus. And I didn't feel anything skeptical. But after getting off the bus, I found that my wallet missing, in which there were some cash, my student ID card and my bus card. Even though the loss was not serious, I was still irritated.

i have experienced and been a victim of pickpocketing myself back in 2010. it was first time ever, i just withdrew money from the ATM machine, maybe the pickpocketer was just watching near the area. i had a lot of my mind at that time, and most of the time, i just on downtown with bag hanging freely on my side. i don't really care that much. then, as i was on a jeepney and checked my wallet to get money for fare, i noticed my wallet is not there..that's when i realized my wallet has been stolen. i thought hard where i might have left it..luckily i didn't put the money i withdrew there, i just put on my jeans pocket. there's not much money in the wallet, but the cards are there..then 2 days later, someone call me on my cellphone that they saw my wallet..it was left on a construction site in the area where i withdraw the money. so i was just able to get back my wallet. after that, i have learned a lesson of being careful.i don't leave my bags and things hanging on the side especially on the streets with lots of people around, we can never be aware things inside like our wallet have already been snatched. since then, i always make sure i tuck my bag in front of me, just to avoid pickpocketing. i haven't been a victim of it since then.

Hi SHANRACK, I have fortunately have been spared from this awful act...I have heard of a lot of that kind of acts going on in the city where the people are shoulder to shoulder on the streets... Some people make pickpocketing so easy,,,i think even tho its our personal property, we still should do all we can to keep it protected and lure the undesirables.

Twice in my life! Once in Durban South Africa, and once in Mauritius! Really frustrating as It was my second day of holidaying in Mauritius and I intended on staying for 60 days....
