Hello MyLotters!
My kids keep me going, especially in the summer time! If we are not at home, you can fnd us at the local pool, playing at the park or soccer field, or in our backyard either digging for treasures or building sand castles! We also take our dog walking as much as possible and play ball or frisbee with him!
We also love to fly kites on windy days, play in the rain and walk to the bowling alley for exercise. (Kite flying is one of my favorites!)
My kids are just now being introduced to playing sports. My son has an interest in soccer, and my daughter wants to be a cheerleader! I am excited about both!
QUESTIONS!!!!
So, what do you do in the summer time for fun?
Do you enjoy playing sports?
Or would you rather enjoy a glass of tea in the backyard under the shade tree?
Do you plan BBQs and invite friends and family over for some fun?
Do you get your pets involved during activities? (Our four legged friends need to have fun and exercise too!)
Do you enjoy ice cream cones, bare feet and swimming?
Or do you prefer to stay in where it's cool and read a book?
Wow, I sound like a big kid don't I? Haha...My kids,,,they keep me going and it feels amazing!
Thanks for taking time to read and enjoy your summer! It sure doesn't last long!

Hi aartisaini!
I have heard from a lot of people who are also in your shoes. They just don't have the time for "fun" these days because they are dedicated to their careers and do not have enough time to enjoy their summers. This can be difficult, as everyone does need and deserve a break every now and then. I feel so badly for you! I bet it must be hard. I applaud you for working and being a productive member of society. That shows a lot of will power and strength on your part. I work, but only part time, and I also homeschool my kids, clean house, run errands and pay all the bills on my salary. Fortunatelly, we have enough money to get by each month. It is a struggle to manage funds accordingly, but I have taken steps to manage our income by cutting down on spending, purchacing products on sale, clipping coupons and just living a frugal lifestyle. So, we do okay. I am working hard to finish my college degree, but I still have a long road ahead of me, because my ultimate career goal is to become a psychiatrist!
Tyou for sharing your experiences with me. I hope things on your end get a little easier for you. I also hope that soon one day, you are able to take that vacation. Until then, stay strong and keep up the good work!

So, what do you do in the summer time for fun? We try to get out of the house as much as possible. Swimming in our new blow up pool, taking walks to the park, going to the zoo or anywhere outdoors! After being stuck in the house all winter, it is nice to get out.
Do you enjoy playing sports? Only casually. Like if I'm at a party and they want to play a friendly game of volleyball or croquet, I'm in! My daughter is too young for sports - only 16 months - but I hope she gets into Soccer over anything else because that's a fun game that burns a lot of energy!
Or would you rather enjoy a glass of tea in the backyard under the shade tree? Ice tea, sure, I'd take that any day of the week :) But can I sit in my pool instead of under the tree? :)
Do you plan BBQs and invite friends and family over for some fun? YES! We love to have friends over. Not many at a time, just small groups of 6-8. BBQ, dessert, and enjoying the backyard together is always fun.
Do you get your pets involved during activities? (Our four legged friends need to have fun and exercise too!) I have no pets :)
Do you enjoy ice cream cones, bare feet and swimming? Yes, yes and yes!
Or do you prefer to stay in where it's cool and read a book? Some days the heat is too much and I do prefer to stay inside in the AC. But most days I'd rather be outside then inside.
Wow, I sound like a big kid don't I? Yes you do, and that's great! I love doing things with my daughter as well. It's fun to be able to still enjoy these things even as an adult.

Hi vivasuz!
I love playing sports in the summer time. My favorite sport of all is softball! I do enjoy volleyball and soccer as well. Oh wow, you mentioned croquet. I haven't played that in years. Thanks for reminding me though. I will look for a set and teach my little ones. Oh, I had so much fun with that as a child!
No kidding about finding activies for kids to burn off energy. My kids are my proof of that! I just wish most days, I had half the energy they do, but I am working hard to accomplish that!
Wow, you are the first to answer all my questons. Very impressive and fun to read! You made me smile. We do need to be active with our children. It will keep us young longer, so I agree with you there! Thanks for sharing with me!

Hi Lauraleigh99
I so want to try jet skiing very soon! My best friend grew up jet skiing and tells me some of the funnest stories ever! My dad use to have a boat and we would go fishing with him. Yet, I've never been paddle boating either. I am also a water kind of girl. I also like playing water games with my kiddos. Thanks for sharing!

I really dont have much in terms of summer activities. MOst of the time I am working and I have a very hard time getting any time off anywhere in the summer. Everyone else likes to take a ton of time off in the summer. I even had a hard time taking my birthday off and it is in August. They felt I didn't need the time off. So I really don't have many activities and I don't have many hobbies. Once my job worked me everyday from May to September with no day off, so I had to manipulate my way around for some days off. This time, I have a plan, and very serious and very big plan. Well, I am working on doing something for my birthday, and I am working on getting back into weightlifting, become as big and strong I can safely get so I can be that unrecognizable gorilla by the winter. I kind of need it anyway because my last summer was stressful with unemployment and I just picked up a new job where I am quite certain I will be moving heavy stuff. In other words, do everything I can possibly do this summer that I haven't been able to do in the past.

Your boss wouldn't allow you time off for your birthday? I am so sorry to hear that. It is nice having time of from work in the summer, because we like to take trips to visit friends who reside four states away. BBqs are my favorite childhood memory of the summer time! I think it's great that you've been finding things to do this summer to keep yourself in shape! Thanks for sharing!

The hot summer sun can bring about so many greaat activities to enjoy. Having barbecues and going to the beach are events i look forward to . Also i can t wait to set the badminton net up and take on the family. Just being in the warm sun an gentle breeze of summer can often be activity enough to enjoy. it just doesn't last long enough before the winter rolls in.

Yes, I also love the warm summer sun, toes in the sand and barbeque chicken cooking on the grill! I also love the fact that I am able to wear shorts and get a nice tan. I have never played badminton, but we do love volley ball and soccer. If it becomes too hot, we love to sit out in the shade and read a good book or play card games with the kids. Thanks for sharing your interests with me!

It seems that everyone do really have plans during summer time. I feel sad for I seldom have activities to do during summer. I do have work and the boss doesn't allow me to take even a short vacation only.
Though this summer we've got a great joy ride experience with my office mate. There was two planned trip though both doesn't work well, though we did enjoy. The first one is there is no more space in all beach area we went and that was already ten in the evening. What we did is to look for a place where we could sleep and try looking another beach area the next day but it doesn't materialized because instead of going to beach and enjoy swimming we did try an extreme adventure by riding in a zipline and doing a superman. Experience cannopy riding and explore the nature. Anyway we really had fun. Then the next planned trip is when we went swimming 5 hours away from our town. We really had a great joy ride because we chose a night trip however our ride seems doesn't work the way we want it. To cut the story short instead of a 5 hours trip we got an 8 hours trip, thus the swimming pool has been closed. Whew. it was an experience.
However, the next day, we've got the best swimming experience ever. We did swimming in a cave and it was really fun. We also did try the beautiful beach.
Swimming is one activity we really enjoy during summer time. And I could not wait for another summer time to have another swimming adventure.
Have a great day!

Hi ginspearl!
It does sound like you had quite an adventure on your joy ride trip. I understand why you chose a night trip, as it would be a lot cooler and more relaxing. Yet, I am sorry to hear the pool was closed. That must have been somewhat dissapointing, but atleast your ride was extended for 3 extra hours. Thanks for sharing your summer experience with me!

I love to spend time outside in the summer months. I enjoy many different kinds of activities for instanse picnics, barbecue nights and days at the beach. In July and August there are many different fairs on my island and the neighbour island. My husband and I usually visit some of them and we also plan on doing that this year. In the July there is a music festival on my island, and a lot of people visit my island at that time. We wanted to listen to some of the concerts this year, but we will have to skip that because we are saving up for a trip to Asia and we can't afford both. During the summer months I also like to go on some road trips with my friends, and we plan on visiting a German island in July. I am going to work in July and August, so I will only have time for a few summer activites this year.

Hi there...
When i was a child, i jumped to the pond on my backyard just after returning from school. Now i leave home early in the morning to my job and return home in the evening. I am living in a small town where no pool or beach is located. So i have to shower on my bathroom and leave all those activities that u have mentioned. I miss them though.
have a nice time.

Awww, I am so sorry to hear that you just don't have time anymore to enjoy summer activities! I love to swim as well. Maybe soon, before the summer is over you can plan a day to get out and enjoy atleast one summer day...maybe on the weekend? I love summer but a lot of people prefer winter time. As I get older, I am sure I will enjoy it more, but where we live there is a lot of snow and it keeps me indoors most the time. I enjoy building snow forts and making snow angels with my kids, but someone always ends up sick. So, I prefer the warm summers with my kiddos! Thanks for sharing with me!
