What color do you think is the best for walls?

I'm going to paint my room a new color, probably something simple like beige. Right now it is a light green, I picked it years ago and don't like it so much anymore. The color of walls can create totally different atmospheres in the room. If you could repaint your room (or any room in your house), what color would you choose? Ever choose a color you weren't satisfied with?

hello jieming! being an artist, i love color and discussions about color and the great fun of contrasting and planning colors! i understand about the simplicity of beige...i hear from interior designers that if one wants to concentrate on accesories in a room, or to possibly sell one's house, then neutral colors are the best . personally, my favorite wall color has always been a light yellow...it is still light enough to play with accessory without overpowerment, but is a color that everyone responds to positively in mood, and is considered a color that gives energy! it also helps to accentuate light in a room! happy decorating!

What sort of tasks do you intend to do in your room, JieMing? That can have a bearing on wall color.
Our bedroom walls are white, yellow, orange, purple, red, blue, and candy apple green. It looks fantastic! We like a lot of the colors and like for things to look bright and cheerful.
I once painted a room the color, 'Wet Sand'. I looked great, even though it may not sound like it would.
I can't think of a color with which I've been unsatisfied.

I hope that it meets your satisfaction and that you have many moons basking in the beige whilst on the computer.

I have attempted a lot of colors before I found colors I like!! I like the darker colors like Maroon, blues and dark yellows. And I love the look of sponge painting!! It adds a lot of character to the room and is simple to do

It really depends on your furnishings and style of your house. I have a light yellowish gold in most of the house and sage green in the kitchen area. I like it. My son has light gray in his bedroom and that looks nice since his furniture and curtains are black. My daughter is the one with wild ideas. She has light green and light blue. one wall green, 2 walls blue, and the last wall she did wide stripes of both. Her curtains are sheers white, orange and green. Crazy!

If ever we'll repaint our wall it would be cream/gray/red/black, mixing those colours and put some vector arts is perfect.
