Hi there,
Are you aware of this news today about Venus Crossing The Sun? Are you interested to experience to see that because every 100 years will happen such event. Here is the news about that.
Late in the afternoon of June 5, 2012, the planet Venus will cross (or “Transit”) the sun. This won’t happen again for 100 years!!
You can watch Venus cross the sun with the same safe glasses used for watching the May 20, 2012 eclipse of the sun.
Venus will appear very small. Even though Venus is the size of the earth the sun is 100x bigger! You can see here http://lunarscience.nasa.gov/articles/venus-crossing-sun/ (not referral link).
Share your experience if you watch this even... see you around

I missed the event as I was occupied else where. But never mind, I will get to watch it again in 100 years. I am sure I won't miss that for anything the next time. It is not a dream. The medical and technological advances in the next 50 years will make me watching the Venus crossing the sun next time a reality. I am still not yet 50. I have got plenty of time to wait for the advances to materialize for me to be able to wait for it to happen again. I am a patient guy.

Hi there visavis,
Yes I've been seeing the news about it since last week. And I made sure to mark it on my calendar even though I know I won't be able to see it. But I tried. As soon as I woked up at 5:30am I went beside our big glass window, I looked up and didn't see the sun Went to shower first and about past 6Am. I saw the sun shining up but couldn't see Venus as I wasn't wearing any safe glasses appropriate for it to look at the sun longer. I'm just wearing my specs.

Yeah, i heard about this.. sadly, we have no equipment whatsoever to watch what will happen.. I just saw some pictures on the INTERNET about it..Venus is super small compared to the sun, it just looks like dirt. I wonder how it will look like to us on Earth..

hi visavis, just a few hours earlier tonite i went to find our Planetarium centre to make sure that i would not be spending hours to find the location and parking space there since they pronounced in the news that today 500 visitors came to watch the eclipse at the Planetarium Centre and i bet tomorrow more visitors would turn up maybe by thousands. In the news i saw visitors got the chance to use sophisticate and big binoculars provided by the planetarium centre. I am excited for tomorrows event and hopefully i do not overslept and missed the event that is expected to be at 8 am in my country.

Thanks for this information. I hadn't been keeping up with astronomy much recently due to health problems, but you posting this has given me enough time to get ready to see it before it even begins to become visible where I am. Thank You. I'll be sure to share if we're actually able to see it ,and our experience.
