I wonder why Paypal has held to its blacklisted listing some countries for years now. Some countries has been disadvantaged from the benefits of online activities or internet business such as www.mylot.com because of some supposed fraud activity in the country or region such as Nigeria and others. However, there are citizens of such country who are out to do legal things online and earn income right from the comfort of the home but has been hindered because of most online activity pay with only paypal. This thereby regionalizes internet activity. Paypal being the most trusted and respected online payment system, I think it will be a good step if paypal reconsider its embargo on such countries and tender pardon or else, other online payment system might emerge and give such countries the chance to use their system and thereby taking the whole market or opportunities. What do think fellow mylotters.

I believe that many of the countries that gained bad reputations in the past for cheating, scams, fraud, etc. are still the same today! They haven't changed at all. So Paypal are as right today as they were in the past to ban whole countries.
Yes, it is unfair, and yes, there should be better ways block inappropriate activity. But they have the right to "trade" with who they like!
The biggest problem they face is surely how to ban Americans, which constitute the majority of scammers today!

Good point! it is very hard for them to just be accessible after having many bad records. Although, the host of the discussion is right that there are people who are in legal business but surely they would understand also that paypal isn't only protecting their profits but the users as well.

Good point Petersum and BabyEj
Then is paypal action justified. They are enjoying the privilege that they are most accepted and reliable online payment system. But how long will it last.
Petersum just as you America have a lot of scammers but have not been banned perchance because paypal is based in US. Cheating scamming and fraud are also thriving very well in some countries not banned. I think that the best approach paypal needs to employ is very security protected system so that they can detect such illegal act with their systems. A lot folk would love online activity and are deterred because of how to receive their payment. Only very few allow Western Union of Payza.
BabyEJ, the protection of their users is very good notwithstanding they are depriving themselves of enlarging their frontiers. Which other online payments might capitalize on. Paypal should reconsider and check how to protect their system and see more people cane used them effectively

Well, it is difficult to judge them. Yeah. For me, it is unfair but what can we do about it? There are still some people who do legal things. I mean it is difficult to judge all of them and it is so harsh if paypal decide them to blacklist the country because not all people in that country do the illegal things.

I think that they should offer it to all countries. It is not fair to ban a handful of countries from using the website.

Good Lauraleigh.
A ban Paypal placed on some countries are not really fair. Some citizens of such countries are disciplined and want to do legitimate things online but are limited because of the ban from paypal. And paypal have not reconsidered their position on this issue. Other online payment systems like payza is opening their doors to such countries and i believe it pay such companies at the end of the day

Yes I agree it is unfair but the sad reality is that some countries do nothing to try to regulate scammers and if they DO try they make it close to impossible for people to report them with all the hoops people have to jump through.
This problem makes it hard for a lot of people who wish to make some income online near impossible and that is truly sad indeed. What would you do if it were in your hands to keep people from scamming others?? You know yourself to be trustworthy, I know myself to be trustworthy... but how is paypal to know? They do what they do in an effort to minimize the amount of scam artists but alas it is not enough. :(

Well thought response from you. Thanks. I believe that paypal is loosing in the long run from making more users by banning a whole country because of few illegitimate act of some citizens and denying those who are doing the right online business of work. What is your say Nadooa247

Paypal is a trusted payment method in internet.
They have black listed some countries to maintain their trust.
If people in one country make some illegal activity, then if paypal is not blacklisted there, then we all say that paypal is not good, it is supporting illegal activities.
So there is nothing wrong to to blacklist some countries to maintain their trust.
And its the site, like mylot should try to pay them by some other method.

What of countries where scamming and fraud is thriving but paypal is not taking action against such countries. Protecting the interest of their users is good and very commendable, I cannot undermine that.Well to me I think if they do not reconsider and give room for people who out for legal business online, other payment systems might take that market or do you think Venkit
