Many of you must know my cycle by now and so I have my period yet again the worse nightmare each month. My periods flex some months I wont have one, some really light, and some really heavy. So this month is beyond heavy, and Im in the most pain Ive been in my entire life. If having a kid is this remotely painful I certainly wont be having them. I was having plain cramping this morning (not unnormal at all), I cant take anything for it though because of the ASA in most. This afternoon the pain get even worse, and now I have really bad lower back pain, and similar to cramps but stabbing pains. Now Im passing large clots, I have passed small and told its normal. But these are pretty decent size.

I often passed large clots, but since I seldom had cramps, I thought it was normal. I have heard some men claim we only lose about a tablespoon of blood... hell, some of my clots were much bigger than that! (morons!) I wish I could give you easy periods, but along with all your other problems, this just seems tied into them. And, oh joy! another 30 odd years of this junk!

My OB/GYN told me that the clots were just where the wall shuffed off in pieces rather than just bleeding and so long as I didn't have cramps (very seldom and very mild when I did) not to worry about them. Of course, I couldn't have "normal" periods, "regular" for me was 36 days until I was 40 then it was 30...

Some of mine are like ketchup coming out of a bottle, but a BUNCH of it. Like when you slap the bottle and you get more then you expect, that kind of thing. Luckily I don't cramp, or few and far between.

I thought it was normal as I use to have tiny clots normally. Until a few years back my doctor had asked and I said yes of course. He told me its not, and can cause serious issue. It means the blood is staying in there long enough to clot, and it could back up and sit causing some disease. Also, when I called telelhealth they said its serious. Its been months where I havent had clots but these are well big. They are about the size of a teaspoon or more. The last few months my periods have been so muc ain and hassle. It we are only suppose to loose a tablespoon I must be dying . Ive had issues since I started my periods at 11 years old. But they just keep getting worse. This is when I hope for early menopause. But this month its really heavy its ridiculous, I might as well sit on the toilet as it just pours which is not normal.

911Ricki, Hey there. Now I've had period problems from almost the very beginning. When they first started they were very heavy and I was drinking a lot of caffeiene which was a factor for it. I had such bad cramps as well and eventually was prescribed naproxen which is basically a higher dosage of ibuprofen. I was taking 500 mg's whenever needed. Then my periods would be few and far between or I'd go two months without and then six months with. Six months without, two months with. Then it got where I just couldn't leave the house it was so bad, blood gushing to no end. A lot of it towards the end was factored because of stres. I split up from my ex, moved, and my cycles got somewhat normal. My diet changed, but really for the worst. I read a few months ago about raspberry tea and drink it atleast twice a day when I think of it. When I do drink it keeps my bleeding very minimal and so no cramps. It tones the uterus. I'd recommend talking to your doctor of course, but in the mean time I don't think one cup of Raspberry Leaf Tea will do you any harm. They also have raspberry pills. Vitex (chasteberry) Black Cohosh Red Goji Iron (there is an FE name for it as well, stronger) I know you take Iron already. Now these other things I've read up on and they are good for you. They make a teah with Red Goji and raspberry, it's also a green tea. Three in one, however I've read online that if you have cysts Goji can be harmful to them. Goji is an Asian fruit supposedly linked (folklored) to be a longevity fruit. I hope all this helps you.

You cannot take naproxen (Aleve) with ASA either. Again, it is an anti inflammatory and it can increase the bleeding and it is hard on the stomach. If you have to take the ASA for your colitis, you are limited to either acetaminophen or herbs for your pain. Other pain reducing herbs include ginger and for some people cayenne or capsaicin.

911Ricki, I reccomend looking them all up there are quite a few out there and you can probably find places to buy them in bulk for cheaper. GG, I was not suggesting the naproxen just stating my own journy.

Ill have to try some of the tea and see how it does. I do have peppermint tea, and cranberry & pomegranite tea which I dont mind the odd time. I want to try and do natural. I want to come off birth control, but Ive tried and Im just in horrible pain. My doctor told me never stop the birth control either (but never gave me a reason - I was young and didnt really pay attention).

You should at least call the doctor and tell him about the large clots and pain. White willow bark tea is supposed to be good. Have you still not heard about the ultra sound?

I may just go to the hospital. I do have a doctors appointment made for June 20th but this is just getting ridiculous. Nope, heard nothing from the ultrsound. But according to the office if you dont hear anything it means everything is normal. Ive never heard of white willoe bark tea before, where would you find it?.

I think the ER is your best plan yet. It is no wonder you are anemic if this is how your periods are. The willow bark tea would be at a health food store, but you may want to talk to the Dr. first. Why can you not take ASA? That might effect which herbs you can take as well.

My doctor told me not to take anything such as Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, etc period. I dont want to take a chance with the issues I already have.

I suggest you to go to the doctor and check because it may be something else. My cycle isn't regular one too.. and I always get through cramps while I am hving my period.. I have checked and I was told that I am okay. So you better check.. and if there's something wrong you still can fix it soon..

Taking Vitex capsules (from the herb store) and drinking Red Raspberry tea help balance out all female-ailments. White Willow bark is a natural, mild pain reliever, which should help tone down your pain. Anything to help you relax will help. Breathe in Lavender to soothe yourself, take a shower or bath, and a hot compress on your lower abdominal area will all help. Good luck!

There was one time my periods got so bad, I was bleeding and cramping so bad that I had to SCORCH myself with heat to relax myself. Oddly enough sometimes even cool water helps. Just being in the water helps and cleaning yourself down there with just a rag and water. it helped the clots flow out for me. Maybe TMI, but just thought you should know.

I had a hot bathe earlier, and now have a heating pad on it. Ill have to look for the teas and capsules as well.
