Birthday party (oh gosh)

I don't use to organize a party for my birthday, but my friends reproach me so this year I would do something. I'm 32 and I don't have much money, so I'd like something moderate. Maybe a simple dinner in my house would be an idea? Some handmade salty pies, red wine and a good dessert? I'm a decent cook but a terrible organizer, so i have to adorn a bare dinner to make it appreciable and I need some tip.

I don't organize parties too. I like the concept of a simple dinner. But can I suggest?? Can you have a music while you're eating?? hmm.. Just choose what kind you like and of course your friends would like. You can also rent/download a movie. So that if your friends get bored, you can let them watch a movie. Hmm.. if you don't like my suggestions.. it's okay..
