I have wondered the issue of Syria for months and thinking why Russia and its allies especially China have held on to their position with regards President Assad of Syria. A lot of global condemnation of Syria government crackdown on citizens including armless women and children. A call for UN action on Syria government has been stalled by Russia and China. Fortunately for Russia, Syria is one of its strong trade partner. Why should the world still be silent as the massacre go on in Syria. Should the world or UN go into Syria and help the rebels without any further wait on Russia and its allies or should we continue to wait and as lives as lost everyday and already spilling over to lebanon?

Whether it be Russia, China or the U.S..none of the so-called "world powers" really care about people and their suffering. It's always about geo-politics and strategic influence in the world. Russia does not want to lose it's sphere of influence and if assad falls, then the last vestige of russian influence in the middle east will be gone. They will have no allies left as the whole middle east will become puppets of the west. Also, keep in mind that the US and Europe don't actually care about the Syrian people. Again..it's all about power and influence. When assad's regime falls (and it will) the new government will be like Libya, pro US and pro west and will kick out the russian interests. That is thw whole game plan.
