Prediction Poland versus greece..tomorrow euro cup started

Tomorrow, we can watch the opening ceremony of Euro cup 2012..and the first game is between Poland (the host) versus Greece... the country which had same level i think.. even Greece is The winner of Euro cup 2004, it is hard (in my opinion) they can follow what they are doing in Euro cup 2004.. and for me, Poland is same chance with another team in group A.. 4 teams in group A is equal i think Poland is unexperienced in international level.. the latest match Poland when they meet against Andorra and they win 4-0..but Andorra of course had different level with Greece..It is hard for Poland coach for measuring their team, because they can play in this Euro cup 2012 because of the status as the host of the tournament.. here i can gives you head to head Poland against greece.. In 30 Mar 2011, greece ever meet with Poland (friendly game) and the score is 0-0..and 12 august 2009, Poland beat Greece 2-0 (friendly game)..can it be a measurement? i don`t think so Here are the three latest game of Poland..They win 1-0 against latvia (23 May 2012), 26 May 2012 they win against Slovak 1-0 and the last they win 4-0 against Andorra (2 June) What about Greece? The can draw with Belgium in 1 March 2012, 27 May 2012 they draw again with slovenia and the last they win against Armenia 1-0.. Both of the team is not impressive i think it worry their fans..I do hope this first match and opening match is interesting and both of team play attack and did not wait like Chelsea do in final of champions league.. starting line up: Poland : Szczesny , Piszczek , Wasilewski , Boenisch , Perquis , Blaszczykowski , Obraniak , Polanski , Dudka , Rybus , Robert Lewandowski . Greece : Tzorvas , Papadopoulus , Papastathopoulus , Torosidis , Tzavelas , Karagounis , Katsouranis , Ninis , Fetfatzidis , Samaras , Salpigidis . Greece still hope their experienced player can give different like Karaougunis (captain), samaras...And Poland with their young player like Robert Lewandowski and Szczesny... I predict that Poland can win in the first match, maybe 1-0 or 2-1.. what about you guys?? share your opinion too

Let me tell you about Greece. The Coach, Fernando Santos, is a famous for his defensive team set up and he surely has quality defensive players. His philosophy, even in his previous team, PAOK, is first of all not to receive any goals. I believe that against Poland, will easily achieve that, no goal or just one. On the contrary, greece as we saw it on friendly matches, is not well tied on the attacks, lacks of conspiracy and scores with much difficulty. But I expect them to score one goal! In my country people say Poland - Greece 0-1 or 1-1.

Even though we will pray for the defense to clear the crosses from the opponent since 2 out of 3 of our goalkeepers are bad at this and one recently recovered from an injury :P Pame mwre omada!

@dadans : yeah. now the current Greece coach is Fernando Santos, one of the best coach in Greek league.. what is the important role of Greek in this tournament? Ninis or the captain, Karaougonis?

Karagounis didn't play much this season with Panathinaikos, Ninis did, but lastly he got injured. Now he has fully recovered and next season will be a member of Parma. I believe ninis. The players who really make the difference are Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Samaras. They both are in excellent form

Possibly the left back of the match would be Holebas and not Tzavelas and as it is written here in some web media maybe Chalkias would be the starting GK. Other than that it would be a close match both teams would try to defend their goal first and then score. I expect from my team to play defensively since we don't have many technically gifted players so we can play more attacking. Good thing though that Ninis and Fetfatzidis are back to a good form since they are the most technically gifted from our team. My thoughts for our starting line up will be: Chalkias, Torosidis, A.Papadopoulos, Papastathopoulos, Holebas, Maniatis, Katsouranis, Karagounis, Ninis, Salpigidis and either Gekas or Samaras as a striker in a 4-5-1 formation.

I forgot to write my prediction. I think whoever would score would win in a single goal match, so it is either 1-0 or 0-1.

Yes he is a player who can help our team since he is quick, he can dribble and he can shoot and pass well. I was pretty close to my expected starting line-up: Chalkias, Torosidis, A.Papadopoulos, Papastathopoulos, Holebas, Maniatis, Katsouranis, Karagounis, Ninis, Gekas, Samaras in a 4-3-3 which would probably turn into a 4-5-1 whenever we defend with Ninis and Samaras turn back to the midfield as wing midfielders.

Finally, the Euros are about to begin. I am getting all excited. I think hosts Poland would want to start on the right foot and it always helps the popularity of the tournament if the hosts do well. On the other hand, Greece is a tenacious opponent. They have shown it in past that they can grind out results with a defensive setup. Samaras on his day can come up with a magical moment or two of his own. But I too feel that it might be Poland that will make a winning start to the tournament. Cheers! Ram

yes..iam excited too i had waited since this sunday.. it is great.. i do hope there are many surprised and entertainment in the first game.. Poland need dortmund trio i think especially robert lowandowski.. they need too that their goalkeeper play like his best performance in arsenal.. i forgot his hard and difficult name

The goalkeeper name is Schzeny. The match has just started and so far is going as expected. Greece is all in defense and Poland is doing all the attacking thus far. But the scores are still 0-0 after the opening 15 minutes. Cheers! Ram

Without any meaningful combative match, it is very hard to see how strong is this Poland team. With home advantage, they have a slight advantage. However, after being "traumatized" by Greece during the Euro 2004, I have this hard-to-beat image of Greece. So my prediction, a 1-1 draw.

i forgot if Greece ever meet poland in Euro cup 2004.. what is their score in Euro cup 2004? Greece coach is stil Germany people (i forgot his name) and now the coach of Greece is portugal.. it is different concept too if iam not wrong.. Poland had an advantages...

The match is over and i'm late for my prediction. Nevertheless, i predict a win for host nation, Poland because of their home advantage. However, inexperience and nerves got to them, hence in the draw game between the two teams. Poland ought to win because they have a very good goalkeeper and if they are able to keep it tight at the back, i won't be surprised to see them doing what greece did in Euro 94. Greece is living on it's past glory and they won't go far in this tournament.

Poland will win 2-0 - Poland will win 2-0. It looks like it.
My prediction for this game is Poland 2 Greece 0. I would have like to tell you guys what footballing reasons I based on to get to my predictions. but I just can't because there is none. All that I had was just a split second of inspiration. I am impressed with Robert Lewandowski. Maybe I saw in him 2 goals but I am really not sure. But I am pretty certain that it would be 2-0.

Then it is a great chance just to be different. The majority is not always right. But I really feel that Poland is more likely the winner against Greece.
