Hi Everyone. I haven't been here for a while due to my illness. I have gastroparesis (paralized stomach). It is hell living with this. I also have food allergies which makes it even tougher. I can't eat much at all and have lost alot of weight because of it. I also have constant stomach pain. The kind that makes you want to die. It might be easier for me to say its kind of like having the stomach flu everyday. And constipation on top of all this caused by my pain meds. I didn't mean to come here to complain, I am just asking for prayers. For a cure. So I can have a life again. Ive been to zillions of doctors who say they can't help me, just have to live with it!! Its just not fair. Hope you don't mind that I vent about this. Ive had this going on for 7 years and basically housebound cause of it. I hope all of you are healthy and have wonderful lives. Please take care of your health. You never know when you will lose it!!

I had a friend who had gastroparesis. Every day she had a fight with keeping down food. She couldn't eat any of her favorite foods anymore. So having seen that, my heart kind goes out to you! She talked about trying some sort of waistband that basically shocks the stomach to get it to move, that might help her to eat more normally again. I don't remember what it was called. Sounded kinda like a pacemaker for the stomach. Anyway, you can vent all you want! It sounds like a terrible condition to have and I pray for your sake and for the sake of my friend that a cure is found for it!

I pray that your friend gets better. Does she have vomiting with hers? That is the only symptom that I don't have. Vomiting and nausea. I have never had those. Just the bloating and pain. The pacemaker is for people who have the vomiting. I have heard it does not help the stomach to move at all. But I have heard of some other electical thing that does help. So maybe you are thinking of that. I do take meds to help my stomach move and it does work. Its called domperidone. Does your friend take this? It helps nausea also. Thanks for your reply. I pray there is a cure someday for all of us who suffer with this!

Yes, she has vomiting with hers. In fact, that's how it started, she just couldn't keep food down and when she could she still felt sick to her stomach. It actually took several months and seven doctors before one actually realized what was wrong with her. It was the worst summer of her life! Maybe I am thinking of another electrical thing, it's actually been awhile since I'd talked to her so I don't know what she's doing to help her with it right now. I know she was on a pretty strict diet and she'd lost a lot of weight, and I do believe she was on domperidone.

I am so sorry for your friend. Please tell her she has my prayers. I guess I was sort of lucky not to get the vomiting and nausea. But I am still in pain everyday. I think all of us who have gastroparesis lose weight because we can't eat much.

I so much know what it is like to live everyday with a chronic illness. I have fibromyalgia and while some days are bearable, some are really devastating. There are times when my stomach is affected by it, plus the pain meds make me nauseated and yes, constipated! I am not homebound, but I try to stay mobile because of my 10 year old daughter. Most days it is agonizing to try and keep up with her and keep her active. She knows what I have but does not understand how hard it is for me to walk sometimes, or how one minute I can seem energetic and a few minutes later I am so exhausted as if someone unplugged me. I do miss the days when I could do almost anything and not even think about it, when my health was really good. I do pray that you can find a cure or something that will make life more comfortable for you. Do all you can to research online. You'd be surprised at some of the things you can find out that the doctors don't know. Feel free to vent any time.....we are here for you!

I am so sorry you have fibromyalgia. I know it is such a painful condition. I also have a child, a son, but he is 18. He dosent understand my disease and wishes he could help me and that makes me feel bad. I miss those good days to before getting sick. I will pray for you as well that your symptoms will disapear! Thanks so much!

I am so incredibly sorry that sounds absolutely awful. I will definitely be praying for you hun! Also, I want to tell you if you have anyone to get some for you there is something called Colloidal Silver you can try. It has cured many things in my own family and if the doctors are not helping you maybe you can give that a try. It has helped me with many things myself too. I really hope your health gets better soon, I cannot imagine living that way!

Thankyou so much for the prayers. I never imagined living this way until it happened to me. I miss eating so many things. Like I use to. I have heard of colloidal silver. Maybe I can try that. Thankyou!

I know there is not anyone who wants to hear this, but I would say to change your diet as soon as possible. What we eat matters on health problems. I use to have many problems, and they got worse until I started eating veggies.

Hi Surveychick4, Thanks for your advice, but I cannot have raw veggies. There is to much fiber in them and we cannot have fiber with GP. It will cause a bezoar in the bottom of our stomach (like a hairball in a cat) and will have to be surgically removed. I do juice veggies though which is really good for you.

Hello lagirl1966, I want to first off say that I am very sorry you are feeling so terrible! It must be so hard not being able to do the things you use to do. I cannot imagine what it is like to be housebound as well. My prayers are with you. I also have a loved one who is housebound because of back issues. She cannot even get up out of bed most days. She has to have surgery again, and very soon. I have heard that processed foods are no good for you with this kind of condition. Also, some fruits might be hard on the stomach and try to stay away from fruit juices and soda. I am no doctor, but I have been around a lot of people whom have had health issues, as I use to work in a hospital. I am praying and God is listening always my friend! Hugs to you!

Hi JenAC1984 Thankyou so much for your prayers, and please tell your friend that she has my prayers. I am so sorry she is also housebound. I can't have any type of fruits because I have fructose intollorance. And that includes everything that has high frutose corn syrup to. We cant have raw veggies either. So I Juice my veggies with a juicer. I don't eat any processed foods at all and can't have high fat or greasy foods either. I am so restricted. I can have things like chicken and fish, and I eat eggs everyday. Thanks for the hugs!! Take care

You are definitely in my prayers. I cannot imagine what you are going through. I know what it is like to be housebound, but not because of the reasons you are. I don't know what I would do if I had your health problems.

It's OK, you can vent and complain as much as you want. Sometimes letting out that negative energy can be good for the body and spirit. By the way, I am a pharmacist by profession and it normally pains and disappoints me to see someone who have tried every possible treatment or remedy but yet still can't solve their health issue. Anyway, I wish you speedy recovery; do rest well and will be praying for you!

Thankyou for the prayers! I would write in a journal all my frustrations, but I also have carpal tunnel in both hands so using the computer is much easier. I feel like I am a walking pharmacy with all the meds I am on! But I bet you see that alot in your profession. Thankyou again for the prayers.

I'm sorry to hear about your illness, it's always sad to know if someone is suffering from sickness especially if it is incurable at this time. Any people can get sick even those health conscious persons do. I'm not saying you to accept it wholeheartedly, sick is always unwelcome to all of us. But this is the kind of life that we have now...I wish there are no more people suffering from any sick and I hope it happen so soon. I take care of my health but you know as we age we cannot escape sickness, it's part of getting older. All we need is a prayer to handle all these hardships and hope for a day where there will be no resident who will say I am sick. That's a promise of a God who cannot lie. Please don't stop praying, He will help you to conquer your sickness.

Thanks. I think I am still having trouble accepting this disease, but I will continue to work on it. It is unfair that as you age you get illnesses, but I guess that is life. Even the most healthy can get sick, you are right. Thankyou for responding.
