According to the New York Times some are saying so. They point to the fact that he is speaking off message when he is campaigning for President Obama. They say that because of his age he is getting forgetful and can't keep things straight. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/06/bill-clinton-old-65.html I think that he is getting ready for a convention fight. Many of the Democrats speaking out will be "Super Delegates" and could push another candidate. Remember it was President Clinton who moved the party from the far left to left of center and defeated a sitting president. It may be an interesting convention.

No, I think it is quite the opposite. President Clinton has always been "politically smart." I use the term loosely because he hasn't been so smart in other areas of his life. I really think he doesn't really like President Obama at all. But is doing these political things more to plug the party than get President Obama reelected. That's probably why he seems to keep dragging his feet in certain statements or not caring really whether or not he keeps his words straight. It is reluctant campaigning.

I see tow things with President Clinton. One reason could be he is hoping for a convention fight that may pave the way for Hillary Clinton to take over the party leadership and get the nomination. The second reason is if President Obama wins or loses he and Hillary would emerge as the party leaders and a run in 2016. It is a win win for the Clintons'.

Yeah, I can see that Clinton is trying to play the hero role after the madness of President Obama. But I don't think Hillary Clinton will run for the office of President again. Not after she all of the clean-up she had to do as the secretary. I wouldn't blame her if she wanted to retire or take a short break.

a former president will always have a place in politics even when s/he is very old. his words, networks and experiences will be valuable to the party and the chosen candidate. president clinton was a popular president during his time. and he still wields some influence in the public. the democrat primary is already done with the incumbent, president obama, as its candidate for reelection.

I think Clinton is just fine. He is his usual self, articulate and intelligent (maybe a bit horney still) lol The Democrats now are in the position of having to make excuses for a man they have said is one of the greatest living ex presidents. So, the only thing they CAN say and save face is that he is getting old and infirm. lol Fact is, Bill Clinton holds a grudge. Obama stole the primary from Hillary with dirty politics and she and her husband have not forgotten it. He is slick Willie after all, campaign for the party, but not the candidate.

I’m not very good with politics but will comment on what I think of Bill Clinton. I think he has a lot of wisdom, knowledge and is able to deliver very clear points, so no not too old for inspiration. In a time where the most important event at the white house was an affair should perhaps be looked back on as the good ole days when people didn’t have too much else to talk about? Now, the stakes are higher, just a thought, from your friendly neighbour.
