Sad I missed Venus transit =(

venus transit - what an event
Philippines
June 7, 2012 9:13pm CST
Hello Lotters, This is one of most coolest and best event since the last Solar Eclipse. It's nice that I was able to see it with my own eyes back then because I've heard it's going to take a hundred years before something like that happens again. Recently, they were talks from the Media about this Transit of Venus that you can see through the sun but you have to use glasses or some filtered telescope because the suns brightness can hurt my eyes. but that's not the problem, what made me sad is that i forgot all about it

You're still young, LetranKnight25, and there are vast improvements in health care, so you might make it the 105 years for this event to happen again. The photographs on the online are much clearer than what I could see.

Hello pageturner, I don't think so, maybe i can stay up until 60 but beyond that am not so sure. probably can stay up until 2060 or something, probably lesser than that. but there's no way i can stay alive until the second venus transit, unless i get to live forever which is highly unthinkable.

I see the magnificent Venus Transit on TV only. If you want to see this, you need to use glasses or some filtered telescope to protect your eye and then take a rest every 10 seconds. I Also want to see this scene, but I don't know when is the best time to enjoy. Also it is very hot here that I don't even want to stare the sunlight.

I think you are a big fan on mylot I see that your number has gone high up to 12301. I think chance will be always existing. Do not be upset. I think we can join the next sun eclipse. I still remember the last eclipse.Rumors go that the daylight will become dark when the full sun eclipse happened. Since I need to go for business trip that day, I worried that car would be losing control if sun eclipse comes as no light would come in. But the result is not, that day was sunny. I think it would be a little regretful when I think of it.

Letran, hope you are not too sad that you are unable to watch it by yourself directly. Same like you i had missed out watching this transit recently due to dealing my daily busy schedules. Besides that, i don't have any telescope to watch it as well. Lucky that i can still be watching it through the Youtube. At least, i don't missed out completely this special event of the century.

Hello Myfb,2009, That reminds me, my brother had a telescope but i wasn't sure if it's still in our house. Or they already have it in their house. Sometimes it is even cooler to watch it in youtube because others can see it better than we can. It's just one of those normal things that happens every once in a while. Have a nice day.

Its no big deal. Even if you had seen the eclipse nothing would have happened. Its not that great a feeling than you are disappointed. Its just a Transit. No body gives a damn about it.

Hello Navoptimus, Well, to most people i think nobody cares or gives a damn about it but i wasn't that uninterested. there's a huge part of me that still wants a bit of science and this is one of those very rare moments. besides, what's the human race's gonna in their mostly boring lives if they disregard this event. anyways, thanks for sharing. have anice day.

Well I also missed it seeing through my bare eyes cause it is not visible in our place, the sky is quite cloudy that time. It will take long years before it will happen again. I just see it in the news.

Hello Ardoy, When i saw it in the news, that's the time i remembered it. I don't remember if it was cloudy or sunny here during that event but i do recall that i have forgotten about that even on that very day. anyways, thank you for sharing, the next generations will be seeing it in the 22nd century. Have a nice day.

I also missed transit of venus to watch it with my own naked eyes since i don't have any material to help me look at the sun but i actually watch it via livestream since i don't have any choice and it'll take another hundred years to make it happen again.

Hello Bladee, Unfortunately you can watch th whole thing with only your eyes because it would lead to complications. remember to have shades when ever you are looking at the sun. it never hurts to look at it as long as there is a protection to your eyes. well, it's just another day for all of us here. wish there would be more cool events like that. have a nice day.

Well I guess I also never have the opportunity to see it but I guess the TV and the internet has provided me a much better view of how it happened so I think that is good enough for me already. I guess it is really not important if we have not seen it with our own eyes for as long as you are aware and somehow witness it happening on TV and the internet.

Hello Rsa101, I have been watching it in youtube for a day and couple of hours, it's really a rare event because we don't get to travel across the stars. instead we see something like this and amuse us. well, am glad our country got the whole view out of it, too bad though, not every one gets to see it.

I wasn't aware of it until I turn the TV on to watch UKG at channel two. Luckily, it's flashed on the screen the live coverage of venus crossing the sun and it's an amazing sight to think that it won't happen again in a hundred years. It's a in a lifetime even where the chances of seeing another occurrence is very unlikely unless we live for more than a hundred years old. The good thing about those who didn't watch it live is that we have the internet to turn to, so you can still watch it again and again.

Hello Ybong None of us will live long enough to see another venus transit like that.but at least i get to watch the solar eclipse few years back and it was a real sight before it went cloudy.Unless some one discovers a way to stop the aging, there's no way we can ever live after the 22nd century. but we can still watch it in youtube over and over again. Have a nice day.

That is quite sad indeed.. i happened 8 years ago too. This is the first time i have heard of it though, just this year.. And it will still take 100 years for another transit of venus. Maybe you can watch clips of it on youtube.

Hello Cairalyssa, You need to have at least a shade to see it, but unfortunately i think that's a bit too late now. you're right the technology has helped us able to catch up even though we didn't get the chance to watch it live. In the Philippines, it took like five hours of transit.Have a nice day.
