Is it a guarantee for anyone to be successful in his/her chosen career like singing if he/she wins the title. We know that the winner receives a price for winning plus other added bonus and of coarse a contract from the producers or promoters of the competition. That already is a lot of money. But i noticed that only a few of winners of competition really become famous in the long run, even the runners up are more famous internationally.

Hi stanley777! for me, even if you win the title, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will be famous or you will get the spotlight. most of the competitions today are won by voting through online or sms. so it's like people's choice, but sometimes, it's the ones who have many networks or many supporters that wins even if they are not that good in whatever craft they do. for me, whoever is better may it be the runner ups, is the one who will be famous.
Hope this helps:)

The entire show's only purpose is for exposure not permanent popularity.I realize this because not all the past winners had been showing progress and becoming famous as time goes by. some of them are actually struggling to even get the slice of the pie singing for concerts here and there. it's up to the artist to be more creative in getting the interest of the fans and getting more fans

@ maanplim,
That is my understanding too. Since the voting are done by the viewers themselves, it's sort of a popularity contest. Most viewers are youngsters so the probability of winning I think is what they see in the contestants appearance, second is their voice specially if it's a singing contest. So what happens is the winners are just title holders and the one who have talents but ends up seconds or third makes it big in the end, or maybe I'm just misinformed.
@ LK25,
Yes, I think so too. Since the show expose their talents to viewers they must not stop there. They have to show that they really deserves the title by practicing more to enrich their chosen craft and be appreciated by their fans.

I don't think s.. Since i have observed, even in our country that it is not always that the winner is still famous until now.. Even the runner ups, those who got 3rd place or even lower are more famous.. It just depends on luck and he effort of the person, and if the people like him or her..

Yes, I guess it depends on the person if he/she really wants to make use of her/his talent. I guess with luck if it's true and the perseverance of the person will make him/her successful in their chosen career. One must keep on improving oneself to be more loved by the public.

Hello Stanley, That really depends on how creative the person is. besides, it also depends on whom America really wanted to listen their songs too. Not All American Idol winners becomes successful in the music industry. the fame is only temporary and after a year you'd realize the fans are with a new favorite. even though jessica Sanchez is my favorite, i haven't seen the REAL her, which she mentioned she will show it on tour

Yes, it depends on the person if he/she wants to use it to her/his advantage. What the organizer did is expose to the public the talent of the winner. So if he/she wants to succeed in that chosen career he/she must be open for improvements.
It's because of Jessica why I open this topic because many thinks that she should have won.Anyway, they say that she had awe the world with her beautiful voice so they gave her the title world idol.

hi stanley, I don't know about your question but I do know
that it is a fact that there are not a lot of things guaranteed
in this world...just my opinion, but your delimma does not
sound one of them..they (producer etc,) can't make that guarantee.
they would probably be sitting themselves up for a law suit...

Hi bjc,
I agree with you on the fact that not all things are guaranteed in this world. Yes, winning a title is like giving you a chance to prove one's talent. And one must not stop there, he/she must go with the flow or make some adjustment for improvement and make known what you can give to the public.
So it depends on how one make use of that talent for his/her own benefit. And yes, producers also have no knowledge if one will succeed or not.
