here is situation which i have faced recently..what would you have done??

I am project manager for an area of a company..and my friend, colleague and ex room partner (when we joined the comnpany) he is also project manager for another area.now there are some other guys with small projects are also..
recently I had to go home for an exam. So i told my boss and came to know that my friend also applied for a leave. so my boss said i cannot release at this peak time..any one of you have to stay.. now i asked my friend what job you have at home. he said he have his annyversery..and also i have an important exam.
So i was very confused. i had to take the decision. I decided not to go home and let him go home and enjoy with his family and wife..
What would you have done if you had an exam for recruitment of a company (which i had) and the date was not negotiable??

This is a complex situation and i am confused to select which one. i may try to convince my boss to permit leave for both of us as we have exam. but if he denied that then some one had to sacrifice. what you did is great one and i respect you to take this decision.

I don't know what I would have done in the given situation but seeing that you chose to sacrifice for your friend is really impressive. I believe you have done your friend a great favor, and everything in this universe will balance out to favor you as well. I do hope you get to fix this problem of yours. Good luck!
