Leaving me alone putting out the fire...

I worked in an hospital/office reviewing for medical claims and we started this account for almost 3 years. We are 8 in the pilot team. We exerted a lot of sleepless nights and huge effort to make this account prosper, and because of this we really came along and we established my so-called friends. And just 2 weeks ago, I feel so weird about some possible changes and at the same time - sad because of some of my teammates have the intention of leaving the account for good. Still clueless with their real reasons. We haven't talked about this in detail. The reason maybe is that our account is in the edge of losing some of it's key accounts. But I believe that there is still hope of reclaiming the account if we work together as one just like before. And now, everyone is in a hurry to leave. Worse, more than half of the team is resigning - bandwagon thing. It even haunt me in my dreams, its like i'm in a ship that we(my friends and me) built through hard work. And it appears that our ship is on fire while my friends are in a hurry to jump to the open sea, saving themselves and leaving me alone, while I'm putting out the fire. Leaving without captain's order of abandoning the ship. If ever you were in my group, will you leave the ship also? Friends, kindly share your thoughts please. Thanks in advance

Sometimes, we have to take into consideration, how much it will cost us if the group will indeed be disintegrated and accounts cannot be recovered anymore, my friend. Perhaps these friends of yours are in dire need of a really flourishing work, so they can be assured of a continuous source of income. We work in order to provide for our family. So if we see that our work will be compromised, we will look for other jobs and resign when we are already sure to be hired.

You are right SIMPLYD...Our team will have a meeting next week for our backup plan if things will go bad. We will definitely see the cost vs. benefits of continuing this account. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate your response

Hello mikyung, First of all, you're a good writer. I understand the discouragement of feeling that you're being abandoned in your work situation. Your friends might feel inspired to move on. It's important to embrace change. The question is do you feel inspired to stay? If you stay there's a possibility that this is just a challenging phase and there will be new "friends" and co-workers that will help you put out the fire. Each person needs to follow their heart and do whatever is best for them...as an individual.

First of all, thank you for your thoughts on this matter. I appreciate it. I know, changes will definitely come but they will still be my friends. Hopefully, the other members of the team (remnants) and the new ones can sort things out and make it rolling again.
