friends i am talking about chicken oil. when professor was here he carried a 50ml bottle full from this oil, said it is the best for burns. I didn’t mind that then (no disrespect to the professor). it was prepared by boiling chicken fat in a minimum quantity of water. when the oil starts to float in the water, it is then saved and placed in bottle. recenly my daughter had a burn on her wrist while cooking, she applied some ointment prescribed by doctor but it is taking a long time to heal, it never dried completely although some part did. there were white marks too, so i remembered about this, emailed him, he said apply this 2 times a day, just keep covered with thin gauze for ventilation i could not believe my eyes but the burn dried fast was cured in a few days and scars also started to fade. has anyone tried this? would you like to try?

Hi ann I never heard of this one for sure. But I do see the goodness of the chicken oil. Seems a good thing to have in the kitchen for emergency purposes. Btw, what is the store (on shelf) life span of this oil? Here, I do use toothpaste when I get some minor burns during cooking. It works good for minor ones at least.

I gave it to her in 2004, just keep in a sealed bottle, you can collect the skin from farms that sell chicken, prepare yourself.

thesids hello, the chicken oil the professor gave was long gone. it just happened that i had boiled some chicken for dinner the night before and i have saved the stock and placed in the ref. the oil would certainly stay on top so that is what i scooped and kept in a container. i was going to use it for some frying later on but then i remembered the home remedy the professor told me. i am not sure how long is the life shelf of this oil. but being in the refrigerator, i say it will last a month or probably two before it gets spoiled. ann

Thanks for the info. but i dont think i want to try it. Here we have oil that is made from sea cucumber and it is sold in a bottle and also very cheap. It works instantly and no marks whatsoever. One time i have a pet, not really my pet but a tray cat which i then keep it as my pet. A dog attack him and left a big wound, i brought the cat to the vet and have to pay quite an amount of money but the cat being a stray cat did not heal so i decided to pour the sea cucumber oil on the cat, amazingly within two day the wound healed and then i took him as my pet. Sorry didnt mean to undermined you but this is from my own experienced.

Hey, I didn't know about chicken oil, but I've used "fish oil" for this purpose. It's still at our home which we got a long time ago. Whenever there is a burn, we use it and it heals like magic! So I think chicken oil can also work and good that your daughter's wound healed with the help of professor and his chicken oil

Sweety I am glad to know Yeng's was cured, i am sure the burn marks will go away soon, doctors usually advice to apply ointment that has silver oxide in it, this is costly, it works but usually leaves white marks that looks ugly

Oh, use chicken oil as a treatment for a burn skin? i haven't heard about it...however it is so amazing when burned skin is dried and scars also started to fade. Chicken oil is really a cure for it...It is very nice to know it ... In fact, sometime i use chicken oil as a moisture lip in winter time. it is really good and my lips are not dried because of the weather any more.

Hello tiger. As I was reading your discussion about chicken oil I am thinking boy how that burn must be hurting. When I was a very young girl my folks used butter or lard (rendered pig fat)for burns. When I was in school and we had to take first aid I learned that the butter and lard were not good for burns because they held the heat in the burn so it kept on burning. We first run cold water over the burns unless it is too bad. We then put a burn ointment on the burn. I wonder what is in the chicken oil that cures burn scares and the burn. Glad it helped your daughter.
