Have you ever wondered why you were saved?

I have been in three near death situations. Third ones charm I do believe. Once with I was a teenager I was riding in the front seat with my girlfriend and her boyfriend was driving. We went around a curve too fast and spun in a circle several times. Back when no one wore seat belts too. There was enough force that a can of pop that was in the seat behind me was opened. Then there was another time when my boyfriend had come to pick me up in a Corvett that had a problem with the front end. He decided to race a purple Baracuda and we went whizzing down the street. There was a cloud burst and the road was slick. He lost control of the car. I was thrown out and he wasn't. He sustained a brain stem injury, was in a coma for nine days and then died. I felt alot of guilt and confusing for along time after that. Why had I been saved? THen there was one other time when my ex and I were walking up toward the top of some foot hills at a local park. A huge piece of metal came whizzing by and if we hadn't been alert and gotten out of the way it could have killed us. Something I saw on tv afew days of ago brought these instances to mind. Have you been in similar situations and made it out alive? For me I believe I was to help my daughter with her kids. Did it make you wonder if there is another plan for you in your life? What do you think it was? Obviously you weren't meant to leave this life yet but what do you think the plan was for you?

hi dear celticeagle, havent been in severe accidents like you were but was born premature. Spent my first 3 months in hospital till my parents could take me home.
The marriage broke and my mother got custody of me. I know I was a disappointment to both my parents, most of all to my mother who was a perfectionist and I could not do anything right in her eyes.
So I asked myself often what am I here for. I am 50 by now and I dont know whether there is a definite situation I am still here for to take care of.... but I believe that I obviously havent finished what I was sent here for.......

hi celticeagle...i definitely identify with your question...i almost drowned in a swimming pool when i was about eleven years old, but my parents friend, a lovely lady, jumped in and saved me...i had been drinking sweet iced tea right before then and i remember having that flavor in my mouth while struggling in the water, which is probably why i do not drink iced tea to this day, a rarity in the culture in which i was born and raised! also, when i was fifteen, i was hit by a truck while crossing the street in front of my school and survived...it was a grave injury and i still suffer from aftereffects to this day, but it was a blessing to have survived...i do believe i was saved for some purpose, and am a christian and so believe that god is very present and powerful in my life...however, i do not know exactly why i was saved...since that time i have had the privilege of raising a wonderful son, being blissfully married to my soulmate and having a career in the helping professions...maybe that is part of it..but i haven't seen some dramatic answer as to why i was spared...i am just grateful.

I've only been in one bad car wreck and I was even pregnant at the time.
It's a mystery to me why some are saved and some are allowed to die, whither accidents, or illness.
God works in ways that we just will never understand. I am assured He knows what he is doing and we have to have faith that it's true, no matter how much we didn't want that person to leave us.
Yes, I do believe if we come out alive then there is a future plan for us in our lives.

So you believe He has a plan and you have nothing to do with it. Is that right?

Heyya celticeagle! I have often wondered what it is in this world that I am supposed to be doing. There have been a few times when life was at risk or at a close call. I have ended up in places doing things I never thought possible for me. I have also partake in things that seemed meaningless at the moment but later seemed part of a bigger plan. Life is amazing. I still have no idea. My children of course but other than that..I don't know yet. I wonder if I ever will..lol.

I don't know if I ever experience something that you just described above. I don't know did I ever been saved. Actually, I think everyone has a purpose in life that designed for them. I haven't still figure out mine yet, but I think that I want to achieve greater things in life. What do you think what is yours? So, I believe you were saved 3 times, and there gotta be some purpose for you to be still alive.

I think we are created for a specific purpose. I think one of this is to help others help themselves. Sometimes I wonder but there is always something that reminds me, someone above is always there to help me pull off things when things gone bad. I remember this day when when I was sleeping in a burning quarter near our office. The worse, the fire exit is locked. I really struggled to look for a way out. Luckily, I found another door which can be use as an exit. It is really a miracle. I feel that someone literally opened that door for me to pave way for me to live to the fullest. Maybe because my family still needs me around or whatever I may be called in for the future.
