What are you doing to be healthier?

Around a week ago some of you may remember that I decided to make drinking a lot more water a new good habit. I'm happy to say that I'm still at it. It's not quite a habit yet, but I'm quite proud of myself for keeping at it.
During the first few days I had terrible headaches which at the time I thought may be related. It turned out that they weren't, but as I felt rough anyway I though I might as well try and kick my coffee habit at the same time. It's been a week today since I drank coffee and I'm not missing it.
Only time will tell if either of these actions make me feel healthier, but I figure they certainly can't be hurting.
Have you started a new health regime recently? What have you changed, and how is it going? Has it been easy to stick with?

Health means soundness of body as well as soundness of mind. For the soundness of body I do excercise like walking, jogging and play football etc. I give much priority to eating enough fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking enough pure water. Enough does not mean excess but a tolerable and comfortable quantity. Fresh fruits and vegetables has some medicinal properties that acts on our minds and uplifts them to divinity, to realization, to prudence and philosophy. Its a energy(we waste in ill thinkings or works) saving food. We must so less emphasis to meat and greesy foods. These meat and greesy food usually worsens our mood. At least I fast half day(12am-12pm) per week. For my mental soundness I like to serve posts on mylot, funny gossiping, reading science and literature etc. What are you doing is your turn now.lol

Well the lack of coffee caused those headaches. I still drink my coffee every morning. And have a few more throughout the day. I still have not yet started to drink water. But I did buy me some sugar free lemonade mix. I found Crystal Light. And believe me, you cannot tell it's sugar free. And there is hardly no sodium in it either. It will take time for you to see results. But what you need to do is take at least a daily walk.

I think that is a good idea. I would have liked to walk the last few days, but I hurt my back and it has been extremely hot out also. So I have not walked. I took some Advil for the pain and I hope in a few days the pain goes away. I do have lots to do around the house and I have been putting it off. I hurt my back by doing nothing at all, all I did was to reach for a cup of coffee on the table and that was it. But I have had this before and I am sure it will go away soon.

Just getting outside more is a step in the right direction for me. Living in town, it's hard to find things to do outdoors, but in the summertime I can at least garden. I have determined to walk more regardless of the weather and that definitely helps.

Congrats on kicking those habits! I've found that when I had plenty of my favorite milk and juice to drink, I didn't pick up a soda nearly as much. In fact, I had gone two weeks without even having one and I felt great. By the time I noticed, I realized I didn't need it.
I've also been trying to eat healthier, picking up healthier choices, more organic items, and not eating out nearly as much. It makes a big difference. The family went out for fast food yesterday, but I instead opted for ordering only an iced tea and came home to make myself something from home.

The tea in itself was a bit of a treat, but I didn't feel nearly as guilty as if I had had a soda. I plan to stock up on a lot of "side" items as they last longer, and then grab meat when it's on special.

In the past, I am a junk food lover, a soda addict, and I dont do exercise, but after seeing people getting sick like hypertension even at a very young age, it made me realize that that I should change my lifestyle. Today I am controlling my habit of eating junk foods, instead of soda I drink juice at lots of water. I tend to avoid can foods and noodles. and I am trying to do light exercise for a start.

I've cut down on my soda intake.
I used to drink diet coke at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus of course at in-between hours when I get thirsty.
I've cut down on that a few years ago. This year, I've cut down even more. I don't think I can finish two bottles of 2-liters a week anymore.
I've also decided that I would take up running again. I thought about it at the start of spring. It's already summer and any day now I would start running again!

Drinking more water never hurt anyone and is actually quite good. Cutting down on the amount of coffee one consumes as well as soda etc. Will leave you feeling a lot more healthi . The main thing is dealing with the feelings you will have while your body is getting used to the less caffeine. For me it is also about more fruits and vegetables and exercising when I can. It is not always easy but in time you will feel a lot better and people will notice the difference as well.

Wow! Good for you! I don't think I could ever give up coffee.. love it way too much.
I have been eating a little less, and when I work in the drive thru I usually bring snacks because we're allowed to eat there. So I've been buying dried fruits to bring for my snack instead of less healthy options. I still don't have the healthiest diet imaginable.. but I have noticed a bit of a difference, especially since I've been working really hard with digging up our septic tank and all that.
I need to give up soda and drink a bit more water.. but I've never been able to stick to that whenever I've tried before.

I think just giving up something doesn't work unless you have something to replace it with. Like you snacks at work is working because you're replacing the unhealthy snacks with something delicious.
I thought I'd miss the time I spend with my partner drinking coffee rather than the coffee itself, but then I realised that most of the time I just make coffee and he grunts, rolls over and goes back to sleep anyway and I drink it on my own. Then it was easier!

For the most part, the biggest thing I would like to do is go back to the gym to get back to weightlifting. It's been something that I have done for quite some time first out of necessity, then as a hobby, but now I want it to be an addiction. Part of the reason is because the jobs I have always worked usually require some physical strength. But I have tons of strength and muscle, which I find comes in handy for the work that is thrown at me, but sometimes I do wonder if it's because I am so strong that I usually end up doing the heavy lifting. Anyway, I like being big, and strong, and I am always looking for ways to get bigger and stronger. My goal is to add more size, strength, and weight. The lat one sounds crazy when everyone wants to lose weight, but that is the only way I can add muscle. One thing I have found myself doing is drinking tons of water. I use to not drink a lot of water, but these days, I am always carrying a gallon of water with me everywhere I go, sometimes drinking 2 of these a day. The one thing I am struggling with right now is eating. I have been sick so everything taste awful, but now that I am working again and actually buy food, I can now buy enough food to fuel this monster body I am growing. The thing about taking up heavy weightlifting is that your size, strength, muscle, and weight increase, so does your appetite. And it is no longer food, but fuel. My other goal is to replace my bike because I like bike riding. But since I am not human, I want to see how much I can tow with a bicycle for that strength factor.

I usually try to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day because I know it will flush out the toxins in my body. I also have been trying to work out for an hour each night before bed but it's nothing too extreme, just enough to get my muscles kicking and I also stretch a lot more. Along with those things, I have tried cutting out a lot of sugary foods and drinks because that's just not a healthy choice. My next step is to fully cut out soda since I still have a glass of it every now and then.

I'll be really honest.. I'm simply cooking lol!
I went through a period there where I lost all interest in cook, and every night I was getting take away food, chinese, indian etc.
I know what you're thinking, how on earth could I afford that every night?? And the answer is simple. I was buying literally no food into the house. Aside from bread, cereal and milk there was virtually nothing in my house, because we just kept getting a takeaway every night, which ended up being a vicious cycle because obviously the more we spent on takeaways, the less we had FOR a food shop.
Now, we've done a full shop, and we are cooking, and not eating fast food. thats me being healthy recently haha!

I moved to a brand new environment with dry air and frequent wind because of my job tansfer last June. Since then, I have tried to drink more water and supplement vatamin. In the morning, I drink a bottle of water before breakfast and have an apple or other fruit at around nine o'clock. After lunch, I have a 40-minute snap and have about four dates. After dinner, I play badminton or walk around the gym for about 40 minutes. Before going to bed, I drink a cup of honey. What's more, I try to drink more water and have more vegetables all day around. Now, my body is stronger and my skin is better than before.

There is nothing easy for a good result. If we want to be healthy, we need to pay the price. The price is discipline and developing a healthy habit. I have learned many years ago about the healing wonders of water. From that day onward, I am drinking a lot of water and I noticed a lot of difference in my health. A balanced diet is the top most consideration for good health; then include enough rest, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle. These are good habits for a healthy life. I admire you for keeping yourself healthy for you and those you truly love.

Keeping healthy and in shape in a very tough job. Personally, I have also started a new health regime. I have started to eat a lot more fruit everyday, this is really helping to keep me a lot more healthier. By having five portions of fruit a day I am more active during work out sessions and also prevents me from catching everyday colds and flu's.
Furthermore, I have also started drinking a lot more milk, this has helped to keep my bones a lot more healthy. It also helps me during training, as I am able to hold heavier weights.
The consumption of more milk and fruit has really helped to change my life. It is very easy to stick with and helps you to gain sufficient energy to train harder, which therefore produces better results within your body.

There are many ways to be healthier. Such as doing the exercises and have a healthy diet. Such as my son and I will have some outdoor activities in the weekend. Sometimes we will ride the bike. Today we went to have a swimming and we had a good time. I didn't like to stay at home to waste the nice weekend. And we also enjoy good food. I will make sure we obtain the necessary nutrition and it will be good for our body.
I love China

I am also on the journey to better health. Some of the things I have included are more vegetables, more water, and more fun. Lessening stress is also quite important. I am really looking to have a better life by being myself. I am one that enjoys working independently while discovering my creative potential. This allows me to be happier. I do a little exercise and make the occasional doctor visit. The biggest change I made was deciding to take an aspirin regularly. I do not like medication, but I think an aspirin a day, can keep heart disease at bay. Keep on keeping on with your better health regime and take care.

I have eliminated wheat from my diet to be healthier. Yesterday I went to my great nephew's graduation party and ate all kinds of stuff with wheat in it and believe me, I can tell the difference today! I've lost 5 pounds since I cut out wheat--not carbs, just wheat. I feel a lot better, healthier, more energetic.
Keep up the good work with the water!

I have cut out wheat products in the past when I've had a bout of sinusitis, and found it awfully hard. I think though that the last time was when I was working and it was the lunchtimes I particularly struggled with. Everything available near my work was either bread or pasta based. Now, of course, I'd make myself something but I didn't think of that at the time!
I'm glad you're seeing a result from your efforts.

I try to go on a nice and brisk thirty minute walk really early in the morning at least every day or failing that pretty much every other day. If nothing else, walking rather tends to get me going in the morning, get the thought process flowing and just allow me to keep moving right through the day. I find that I have a bit more spring in my step with regular walking.
I've cut back a bit on the caffeine. I have no delusions about the fact that I am going to cut it out of my life completely, but every single little bit helps when you think about it. There are times where it has helped and I've dropped a couple of powers. And I've eaten less, that always helps. Really keeping my mind active and busy will prevent me from getting bored and hungry.

A daily walk is something that I could really do with. An opportunity to just get away from the farm for a bit. There's times I feel I never leave it, which means I'm constantly 'on call'. It would help me relax and give my head a chance to sort through a day's worth of drivel and work out what's important.
Yes, this might have to be next on my list of habits to get into.

Recently I started to use some mint and ginger in tea so that it will be a healthier one to drink than to drink plain tea. Other than that now I thought of increasing my hb by eating more iron content in food. For that I am going to use dates with honey which is a good supplement.

i've been going to the gym and working out for at least 20-25 hours weekly, i have also changed the kinds of foods i eat, this was extremely hard i was literally adicted to pizza and other junk foods, now i rarely eat them and i am proud of that, there hasn't been a day that i have regretted making those changes because now i am more fit than ever, my body is healthy and strong, and i don't have acne anymore.
