For those Trekkies Out There - Kirk or Picard?

It's a long debated topic that I'm interested in hearing your ideas on.
Basically, who is your favorite Enterprise captain? Tell me a little on why you chose that particular captain - was it wit, charm, good looks or something else?
For me, my captain of choice is Picard. True, I was a Riker fan, since he took over the role of being the one to bed all the alien ladies so Picard could be more of a staunch moralist or some such. But who couldn't like Picard? What with his interests in archeology and his earl grey tea, hot.
After TNG, as well, I never got into a Star Trek series as much. DS9 never interested me and Voyager? Eh, Janeway started out ok but degraded as the series went on. Picard all the way for me.

I have to agree there. And it's great to find another Trekkie who thinks that as well!

Picard is the one I prefer. he is more sophisticated and a better actor. never over the top like Kirk...the classic Star Trek is playing where I am at now and it is still worth watching.

Picard all the way! He was more intelligent than Kirk, he had a better head on his shoulders, he understood when it was alright to bend or even break the rules better than Kirk, and he just seemed to have a better grasp of what it is to be a captain than Kirk did. Kirk was a stubborn, pig headed lady's man. Spock was much more qualified to be captain than Kirk was.
I liked DS9 well enough, but I couldn't stand Janeway on Voyager. They really shoved the idea of "OMG LOOK! WOMAN CAPTAIN! WE ARE SO PROGRESSIVE!!!' down our throats. That irked me.
