There are several great boxers nowadays but we can see that some of them are a notch ahead against other boxers in skills and popularity. Some of these boxing stars I can mention are Pacquaio and Mayweather. In the past we have lots of them like Muhammad Ali, Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson and the likes. Now if we talk about the present moment, besides Pacquaio and Mayweather who do you think are other boxers that would follow these special groups of boxers that I have just mentioned?

I too also think Donaire will be the next Pacquiao. There are also a lot of good Filipino boxers around.

I would agree with both of you. Donaira will be the next great filipino boxer next to Manny. Viloria is already great but fall short of the glory Pacquiao has given us Filipinos. There are other upcoming boxers like Banal, but he lacks the charisma Manny Pacquaio has. I like Melindo and I think he would be great someday too in his own way. He boxes methodically and he never rushes things but always seems under control of the fight. I feel he will also go far.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez seems the obvious choice, Golden Boy Promotions are going to want him to be their money man for the next decade. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr could be as well, if he manages to get past Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez. From the US you have Gary Russell Jr and Adrien Broner, both a are flashy in style and charismatic (though in opposing ways). They could both be huge names. Andy Ruiz Jr could be a heavyweight to watch out for, not sure he'll ever be a star but he's got stupid handspeed for a heavyweight. He'd have to lose a lot of weight to ever win a title though. David Price from the UK looks to be the next big Heavyweight star in my opinion. Sadly I think it could be a while before we really get a sporting mega star from boxing. The promoters and fighters are too greedy to create a fighters popularity like they did in the past. You used to have guys creating a name on free to air TV then moving on to pay TV, sadly fighters are now needing to create a name on pay undercards and are hidden away from the vast majority of the sporting public. We need a change in the mindset of promoters before we can have the next "cash cow" (unless Chavez or Canelo can do the job).
