Ok if you haven't seen the match , stop reading now! Ok here I go. What a even match! was England playing better Or did France take them lightly? Do you think England would have kept the lead if Rooney had played? In other words did England play ther best or did France play their worse? ps. Why isn't Rooney playing. I fear I missed something Huge!

Rooney hasn't played because he was punished for two games. He can play again in the third match of England. I think that in the Eurocopa we will be able to see a very good football. I like how play Spain, Italy, France, England and Germany. But I like most the play of Spain. Did you see yesterday the game Italy - Spain? Until now it was the best game.

No, I didn't too, but it would have been a great match. Unfortunatelly I am not going to see all the games and I expect to see only a few of them. Especially the last rounds. Keep enjoying the matches.

Today there are good matches too. But I don't know how you will have time to see the entire matches, considering that each game lasts 90 minutes, although this is only at the beginning because as the tournament progresses there will be less matches.

Forget keeping the lead, had Rooney been there they would have scored more. For starters, the miss that Milner had early on when one on one with French goalkeeper Lloris would have fallen to Rooney if he had played and he would definitely have buried that one. Also, Young was poor going forward and would not have played in that position had Rooney been there and the moves would have been more precise. Cheers! Ram

In the second last qualifier for England, he committed a stupid foul by kicking out at an opponent after losing the ball. He was red carded and handed a three match ban. That meant that apart from the last qualifier, he will miss the first two matches of the Euros. Cheers! Ram

I am a little surprised that soccer seems to become popular in USA now. I didn't pay attention to this cup. I like to watch the Fifa World Cup much more because it will be a global soccer event. Now I know the match result between England and France and I also have a surprise to it. As I thought England would win it. I love China

Well , soccer is still not as popular here as it is in Europe or any other part of the world. I am learning about the leagues with help from my friends.I was told that France was suppose to be better.

I saw the first half of this match and the first goal, then I had to go home as my youngest was bored in the bar.

Woo! Your youngest is old enough to be at a bar? And he was bored? Even I knew that there are slow patches in all matches! The second match was much better. Did you two see Ukraine vs Sweden?

Over here a sports bar is better than a dive bar. Kids are welcome at a sports bar but a dive bar? No! I'm rooting for England! It is ok you don't Have to be into soccer/football!

I don't think bars have the same negative connotation here as they do in the US! It's perfectly normal and welcome for young children to be there. I'm not really watching these games, although my elder kid and all our guests are down at the bar watching every one. I just felt I ought to make some sort of patriotic effort for the England game! We have two Swedish guests who came home yesterday very dejected!

Both the teams were playing to their strengths i guess. Roy Hodgson, the England coach prefers more of a defensive and disciplined game where as France looks like a team going for a kill under Laurent Blanc(French coach). Both the teams where playing to their strengths. France having Ribery,Benzema and Nasri could have done better but when you look at the overall scenario, both the teams played well. Rooney did not play because he has got a suspension after a red card in a international friendly some time back in February. He wont be there in the next match as well. He will be back against Ukraine.

Thanks. It has been so long since I saw France play. So both should be happy with a draw.

Rooney looked better as a spectator than being a player on the pitch. If he did play, England would have won 3-0, not just preserved the 1-0 slim lead. England played the best they could under such circumstances but of course they could have played much better. France was good but that Bayarn Munich guy, like his colleague, Robben, was not at his best.
