Wow, it seems like just about every state in the Union is sueing the Federal Government for something.
Gov. of FL says:
“For nearly a year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has failed to meet its legal obligation to provide us the information necessary to identify and remove ineligible voters from Florida’s voter rolls,” Detzner said. “We can’t let the federal government delay our efforts to uphold the integrity of Florida elections any longer. We’ve filed a lawsuit to ensure the law is carried out and we are able to meet our obligation to keep the voter rolls accurate and current.”
Why would the Federal Government NOT WANT voter records current and accurate?

good question debrakcarey, why would the government not want things accurate and current...reminiscent of other things that the government does not want accurate and current, such as the warren investigation report, the watergate scandal, the iran-contra affair...the list could go on...unfortunately, seeing your title sue city somehow kicked in the old loretta lynn song "fist city" in my brain jukebox...i don't know which would be better, sue city or fist city!

Do you ever ask yourself, who would vote for this? who would vote for that person? Now you know the answer. This is their voter base (liberal). The left claims that it violates civil rights to require ID. But to get into their own fundraisers you must show ID.
Regarding Homeland Security, it is clear that most border states are "fed" up with the feds. They have not been doing their jobs. I am in Colorado, we have an ICE office in our town. Their hands have become tied making them completely irrelevant here.

Hello Laglen, I'm so glad to see you after so long a time!
They hypocrisy is palpable. You can see it hanging in the air all around the progressives.
It will take much work to unseat them and then to keep them from having the power they've enjoyed for to long. Are we up for it?

hmmmm, good question!! It is curious indeed as to why something so dependent on votes, would not want to be sure voter records are accurate.

You know... I guess we have to admit that our government is full of corruption, but not wanting Florida to keep its voting records straight is so blatant that I just don't understand why there isn't more of an outcry. Why would anyone trust a government who comes against things like that?
Obvious voter fraud, wooing the illegal alien vote (I know they're not supposed to be able to vote), twisting the basic structure of freedom... I'm so glad the states are standing up to them. Not just against voter fraud but to police the southern border, to keep our freedom to choose the foods we eat, to stand up to BATF and IRS heavies and so on.
Why would the Federal Government not want voter records current and accurate? Maybe because some of them couldn't vote if they were?

I have had that thought, 'why isn't something done' about a number of things in this administration.
Was thinking about Nixon's resignation and the Watergate scandal the other day. It is weird to think of him in respect, but to realize AT LEAST he had the decency to leave office when it became public knowledge he'd broken a law. The AUDACITY of Obama, smiling and glad handing, making more promises he knows he has NO INTENTION of keeping to people who adore him and would do anything for him. The Man Is Dangerous.
We most definately have to make sure our votes are not 'lost' or 'stolen' and that the elections are fair and legal! If there is anything to do at the local level I will surely be there.

This is a rhetorical question, right? Those inaccurate, redundant, deceased and fictitious voters carry an awful lot of weight at the polls. If they are in the pay of the government or some other person or entity they might just swing an entire election one way or another.

exactly, and that is why Holder is holding up the cleaning up of voter rolls.

That is what this administration is all about. Doing things they want to do (in this particular case making sure that all of their buddies, you know the ones who are not authorized to vote in this country, to vote) and making legitimate people or States try to force them to abide by the law.
The injustice department continues to be an illegally operating Un American association of racialists and one worlders.
It will not be soon enough to send these guys back home.

After the election, will they be smart enought to go back to hiding their agenda? We dare not put down our vigilence even if Romney wins.
