Presently, the legal age for our children to start their grade school or primary school is at 7 years old.
Now, our government has proposed to allow our children to start their grade school two years earlier.
If everyone agrees to this proposal, our children will start their grade school at the age of 5, probably in year 2015 onwards.
However, there are many negative feedback from the parents because the children at the age of 5 will not be suitable or too early to start their formal education.
I do have my personal point of views. The government should have two alternatives for two different ages of children to start their formal education.
I am worrying not every child has the capability to start their formal education so early.

At this moment, I have no idea about the actual new whole courses which is proposed for the whole grade school.
If the first two years courses has been simplified and it is about the same as the courses in preschool, I definitely have no objection to it because many parents send their children to preschool at the age of 4 or 5. Then, this will be a good proposal and the parents can save more money. In my country, we do not have to pay for the fee when our children are at their grade school and high school.

Yes government are offering since then the pre-school which is required before you enter to primary school. Government saw the quality of our education are lower than the quality 20 years ago... they think to change the way of teaching.. which they are now trying to implement.

Actually in that system, I agreed because my daughter started her pre school at the age of 3 1/2 years and now at the age of 14, 3rd year HS same as my son which 17, 2nd College already. If the government plan is 5 years is acceptable for primary school it is okay I think - because I know that in the early age children are very strong memory...

From my understanding, the courses in preschool will be very much different with the grade school.
In the preschool, the children will just study for a short while and most of the while they will have games, singing and many other activities.
If the government wants the children to start earlier, I suggest to make the course simple so that, our children can start having their interest in study and they can absorb the courses easily.

Actually the level of teaching and way of teaching as I know has standard which government given to a qualified pre-school. Because that pre-school are required to students before entering grade schools. But in my case i never go to pre-school because during that time not available and not yet requirements.
