Now I find it easier to respond than to start

I used to like starting my own discussions before as I find it easier and more comfortable to do. But recently I found out that I am changing. I have started to respond to other topics more often. With a heavy loads of topics available, we can always find ones that interests us. I guess I would now consider myself more of a responder than a starter. I guess most people here also finds it easier to respond to other's discussions than to create their own. Well, I'm glad to be one. Good day everyone!

I have always been more of a responder here. I only start when I can come up with a topic, which in my case is quite rare due to my lack of creativity, I guess...
In the beginning, I even read more than I post here; I was just so keen in reading the discussions and ran out of time before making posts. But now I try to respond and comment more as I am reading the discussions...

Welcome to mylot!
That's just how it is here, at least that's how it was for me as well. Like you, I was usually more into starting my own discussion than joining in others' but now I frequent in others' discussions and rarely start my own, seeing as most topics discussed are interesting and fun.

Yes, maybe it's like turning from newbie to pro, hehe. I'm glad to know that you also used to be more of a starter before. Thanks for responding. Take care!

I have always found it to be easier to respond than start a discussion. It takes a little more creative juice for me to start a discussion that most people can relate to. If I do start a discussion, I am hoping I have responses from people that understand the discussion. I know I am talking to an international community, and I want to talk to people on their level. I guess we are all trying to see what we have in common as well as not in common which makes it interesting.

Yes, as we all know that not all topics can draw many responses, we should be very choosy on what topics we are going to post. It must be a general topic, or topics that most people can relate to. That's why responding to someone's topic is much easier. Thanks for responding. Good day!

Yes, just like what most people here are. They like to respond more than to start. You are obviously one of those. Thanks for responding.

Hello Harold,
There are times I just want to response to others topics and no mood in starting my own discussions. But there were times I'm having difficulty responding to any discussions and I prefer starting my own. It depends on my mood anyway!
But the thing here I never get tired reading topics. No matter I respond nor I will start my own I'm enjoying myself reading those topics of my interest!
Good day Harold!

Yes cloud, it is actually depends on our mood, sometimes we have topics in mind that we wanted to share, so it will make us start, while there are also times that we just enjoy browsing discussions and respond to everyone that interest us. But to sum it up, myLot is really a cool place fool of great people and discussions. Thanks for your presence. God bless you always and take care!

Youre right, for me it easier to respond that to start a discussion because there are times that I want to start a discussion then searched to the previous discussion found out that somebody already had before it, I got disappointed and sad.

Bhebelen14, yes it's good to be cautious not to create similar topics coz it might fall into duplicate postings, but just like what ryanong said, don't worry too much about it coz you might have used different approach so it might not get deleted. But if you are unsure, still post it. Just enjoy posting, take care!

Don't be sad or disappointed when your idea is similar to the old topics. This site is long time already so that there are many topics posted so that similar ideas are normal.
I don't worry much about similar ideas when write a topic because all is related to my life in here so that i think no one have the same life like mine. If you go to general topics, for sure many people already posted it.
I hope that start a topic is not hard for you anymore.

Aha! Me too! i would have more responses to people's discussions than my own discussion i started. I wondder why there are times i am unable to think of topics or discussions to start here on mylot. It is not so bad anyway, to be responding to people's discussion as some are really good and great. on bad days, i would even be on mylot and unable to even answer some discussions... it is really something about one's mood i guess at the time they are posting. he he

Yes, that is actually much faster to do, responding to discussions than creating your own. It takes time to think of a topic and how to construct it, while responding is just like sharing your thoughts on a given topic. Thank you for your response. Good day to you!

I would definitely say I've been much more of a responder than a creator in my time here on MyLot, however creating more discussions is something I think I would like to do, so the opposite of you!

Yes, you should also try and focus on starting your own topics. The advantage of it is the opportunity to comment on the responses you will get. It will not be that hard and you will still earn from it. Thanks for sharing! Have a great day!

It's been a while since I last started my own discussion. It's much less of a pressure to just post on someone else's topic, especially now, I have a fulltime job and it's very seldom that I visit mylot these days, with one or two posts, or none at all.

Yes, having limited time makes you focus more on responding than to create a topic. Well, I'm glad that despite of your busy sched, you can still find time to post here. That's nice! Thanks for dropping by. God bless!

I find it both easy.
I can say that I am earning much better when starting my own topic since I can easily respond to it.
But, sometimes if I saw a lot of interesting topics then I prefer to respond than to start one.
I am also inspired to respond more when I give myself a challenge to reach a certain number of post.
Like now- I want to challenge myself that I should reach the 13K this month.

Wow, good for you that you find it easy to post, whether to start or to respond to others. Yes, the advantage of having own topic is the opportunity to comment on the responses. Since it's all related to your topic, it can be easier to make a comment on it. Though another advantage of responding to other's discussions is the one you mentioned, it can increase your number of posts faster. It's so nice that you motivate yourself by a challenge. Well you still have more than 2 weeks to accomplish it, I'm pretty sure that you can do it. Good luck and happy myLotting!

I have been a member of Mylot for about three years and have only started 2 or 3 discussions. I spend most of my time responding to other's discussions. I like it better for one thing it takes a lot of time if you start your own and then reply to every response. Also, I cant seem to come up with new topics, so I leave it to others.

Oh, I checked your profile and yes, you have only started 3 topics. You really focused on responding. Well, that's cool. Just keep on responding, for sure good topics will never stop coming. Thanks for dropping by. Take care!

It is very much easier to really just step into an already established discussion and add your own two cents right to it. There are many times where I think I sit there, intending to add something right into the conversation. Yet there are just some times where I am really unable to come up with anything that would translate into a good something.
That is really just something about the ideas that I have. There are times where they can seem like good ideas. But how well do they translate into an actual discussion on this forum. It doesn't seem to translate well so I just leave it. Plus I think that actually starting a discussion requires a bit more work into this website and if you are just on here and off here a lot of the time, you might not want to take the time.

Well, yeah starting your own topic demands more time since you will get responses from it, and to keep it active, it will be better if you will also spend longer time here, commenting on them. That's why it's really easier to just respond to given topics. Thanks for your response. Good day!

Well, I also think you're right about this. Find one or two sentences to be written in a discussion already started by others, is much more easy than create their own personal . I mean for example I would like to respond to at least 10 threads per day. But maybe in the course of the day I can create just one or two topics. Always on this that I now have a topic on which to write something.

Yes, it's more time consuming to create your own topic than to give a response to other's discussions. That's why most of the time, we are being more productive when we focus on responding. Thanks for dropping by. Good day!

hihi, and i know you will change one more time, you love to post your topics again. I think it is normal in here, mylot.
In the beginning time, i just post my discussions only and i didn't have ideas for opening a new topic. Currently i do both, open topics and join others discussions and i find more fun with it.

Oh, yeah maybe when I can't find interesting topics to make a response, I might just think of topics again that I can start with. Hehe, actually it's fun to do both. Thanks for responding! Take care!

I used to start discussion too, but nowadays, I never do. There are so many discussion that I feel I can say something about, that I never have the time to start any of my own. I think it is OK to do this as I don't think there's any great difference to adding something to an existing discussion as to starting one.. _Derek

Yeah, responding to discussions saves you time to think. Because topics that you are interested in are already available, you just have to search and browse for it. Keep up the good work and happy myLotting to you!
