How do you maintain work-life balance? Do you get to spend quality time with family, or in pursuits that contribute to letting you become a fulfilled and well-rounded person? People have different ways of unwinding after a long & taxing day at work. Some listen to music, others go online and chat with friends on social networking sites, while others watch tv. Maintaining work-life balance, to my mind, is very important, and I think it's important as well that companies today set up policies that contribute to work-life balance. Do you agree?

I agree with you too. We need to keep work-life balance. I often to go to sleep early after a day of working. Currently caring 4 cats is the way to help me relax also even though sometime i was angry with them when all of them went around my foot and i might fall down...

I've read countless articles on the importance of sleep, especially in the evening, when the body needs to repair itself. Pets are a great way to de-stress and help people unwind, though owning a pet is not for everybody, since you must be sure that you can provide for the pet's needs. In any case, creating a semblance of work-life balance can be done in many different ways. I hope I can try to follow your example and sleep earlier so my body can thank me for it.

I totally agree.. I never like spending overtime working at work provided it's really necessary.. those days, when I stayed back in the office, that's as we have agreed to go for happy hour drinking session and dinner together but nothing related to work. Now that I changed job, and I will leave the office on time, back home and be with my daughter. Spending time with her, while relaxing too!

Setting aside time for family is really important. Other members, including the young ones, tend to consider family bonding moments precious. It's good to have a firm resolve not to bring work, and devote time for personal hobbies or relaxing with family.

I agree with you but at times we can't avoid being out balance, haha. Anyway, I being used to multi-tasking now. Working, then blogging, mylotting in between and also online selling. It is hard but through time management I pretty much used to it. Oh, I am a mother and wife too. :)

Moms and wives who are able successfully juggle work and family responsibilities deserve praise. Work may sometimes leave little time to attend to personal interests, but after a while, things balance out -- `specially if we make it a point to really set boundaries and leave some time for personal hobbies. I guess if you enjoy what you do, like online writing/blogging or selling and you learn time management skills, you feel good at the end of the day.

There comes a point in our lives when creating work-life balance has become increasingly difficult. It also depends on the nature of your job. Customer-oriented jobs, in particular, prompt people to set aside even personal time to attend to requirements or requests of clients. Companies are lucky to have such individuals who know the real meaning of customer service. I'm pretty confident you'll find ways to attain a semblance of work-life balance. Good luck!

Yes, work-life balance helps people be more productive and to face each new day -- with all its challenges -- with greater confidence and a more inspired outlook.

Sometimes it is really hard to balanc life and work. For me, I make sure that I don't bring work at home, I do leave it at the office once that I get out from office. Sometimes there are still some work through calls but still as much as possible I leave work at office for me to have more enjoy personal life.

Not bringing work home is a surefire way to enjoy some time for personal interests -- hobbies, bonding with family members, and so on. Devoting enough time to enjoy life makes people feel recharged and ready to take on challenges, be it work, problems, and other serious stuff.

Taking a leave off work does help people put things in perspective and see the importance of spending quality moments with family and personal matters.
