The issue of marriage should be rushed my friend as it is a siege that will be hard to get out of. The church organizes these classes to teach the rudiments of marriage. I would suggest sticking with church's way to avoid life-long regret. Marriage are not to rushed but carefully guided and led by both elders and the church so that nobody will lament for being part of the union. That is my frank opinion

What are those classes for?
i know that for those who will marry in a catholic church there is like a marriage counseling seminar but only for a few days not really 8 month. Maybe you could ask about it, i believe that was only for 1 month or 2 weeks..

I am Catholic and I married a non-Catholic so we did not have to take a class. Both my parents are Catholic and only had one course and so did my aunt and uncle. My husband is Mormon and I am Catholic so we did not get married in a Catholic Church. My friend's father is a Baptist Minister and all he required was one counseling session. We met with him a second time because Randy's mother had passed away and we needed some healing. I would check with your church or the church you are getting married and ask them how many courses you need. 8 does seem like an aweful lot.

Maybe you have to confirm it. I believe it won't take that long, a week or two should be enough already. Well congratulations in advance to both of you. God bless!
