Last Monday afternoon, I noticed a small, ringworm-like appearance on my right arm but I just took no attention to it since I had it many times before, and since it wasn't itchy and painful, I totally disregarded it but not until yesterday morning when after waking up in the morn, I discovered that the swelling has progressed and spread to the adjacent parts of my arm and it's becoming red in color, there's an itching and a little pain and discomfort when touched.
Yesterday afternoon I went to a local pharmacy and asked for a remedy and they gave me this ointment called "Katingko"- which is similar to Vicks in scent. They say it's effective in treating mosquito and insect bites even though I just presumed that it was perhaps the cause.
And so, before going to bed last night I hoped that the next day it'll be relieved or at least a little but significant improvement in the process, but until today I'm a bit disappointed with the outcome. I'm starting to worry about this.
Have you had any experience with this kind of condition?
My dear fellas, I need your help. I would greatly appreciate it.

If you lived in Canada or the northern part of the US I'd be advising you to see a Doctor immediately as it could be a Tick bite, which can be very serious. This is a debilitating condition which can last for years, and has a serious affect on general health. Many Doctors in North America misdiagnose this bite because it has not been common, but its now a growing problem!
I'd advise you to see a doctor immediately!

I'm from the Philippines by the way, I'm glad it healed after 3 days without any serious treatment. The swelling has deflated as well as the itch and pain has decreased. thank you guys.

Hello mylotter, i would suggest you to consult to a doctor, for they are more well knowledgeable when it comes to health. There are many kinds of insects in our country and not easy to recognized what kind of insect bite you have. Almost symptoms are the same, but donot let that become worse.

I live in Florida and have been bitten by many incects. It sounds like it could be a mesquito bite after you have scratched it. It looks like that on me after I scratch it a while. Try some calamine lotion. The pink stuff.
