It will only increase if other users rate your activity positively as explained by myLot here:
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx
If your posts are worthwhile then you might get positive ratings. If they are one liners it is doubtful.
Your star is part of the aglorithm which affects earnings. The higher the star the better your earnings.
Read here to see how to use the rating system correctly now that you too can rate others. How you rate others also affects your own star because if you abuse the rating system mylot will detect it.

"Your star is part of the algorithm which affects earnings. The higher the star the better your earnings."
True, in the sense that 'where there's smoke there's fire'. It is the Discussion Ratings System which is a factor in both earnings and MyLot reputation. It is nowhere stated that your reputation figure is part of the earnings algorithm!

Personally, I find DRS, reputation system and earning algorithm too intimidating. Why, maybe the earning algorithm is actually too simple!
I succeeded in detaching myself from the meager earning I get here. Maybe someday I'll get detached to the stars as well... presently I care too much. Time to see some red

Here is how to increase your reputation:
Post quality topics, responses and comments! Some pointers include:
- When giving advice or answering questions, research your conclusions and provide links to authoritative guidance. (as it says at the side of every text entry box, "Please be as descriptive as possible.")
- Convey original ideas or thoughts. Don't repeat what somebody else has already said.
- Be considerate of other users in a discussion.
Yes, it is useful to you. The more your posts are rated positively by other users, the more you are likely to earn and the higher your 'star' value will become.

Owl having been silver and yellow (for a long time) I can see a huge difference in earnings now compared to then and Lamb experimented too.
I think this user should lose their attitude if they want to see an increse in their own star. Both here and on my topic yesterday and a comment that they left for me too I see an obvious hostile tone which will not lead to positive ratings (which are needed to bring their star up from almost the bottom level).

No prashant. You are not in this box. I am talking about the user who opened the topic.

Yeah if you think this post not have any quality, that fine, I just want to celebrate my first time to have star, so that was fine actually.
