I live in Puerto Rico and here we keep our Washing machine and Dryer outside. I have a carport and behind it is the Washing Machine and Dryer. Well one morning when I went to open the sidedoor to the carport I smelled a really horrible odor. I swore it was the smell of a dead animal. So I looked around and didn't see anything. The next day my Shih Tzu who is 14 years old pee on his towel that he sleeps on. So I took the towel outside and said I would wash it later. Well later on that same day I went outside and the smell was just worse and I thought oh I forgot about the towel thinking that was the problem. So I washed and hung it out on the line. Well later going outside to get the towel I still smelt that odor. Well the next morning when I got up to do laundry as I was taking out the rack to hang up socks and undies I saw a tail of a cat behind my washing machine. He did not move so I knew it was dead. I screamed ran inside to get my hubby. We couldn't believe that it was there dead, swollen with flies all over it. I was so grateful that he was home to take care of this because there was no way I was going near it. My hubby said someone poisoned it because there was blood coming out of the mouth. Now I just wonder who would do such a thing. I only saw the tail and wouldn't look at the cat itself because I didn't want that image in my head. Would you be able to discard the cat yourself your would you have had to get someone else to do this? My hubby asked me what would you have done if I wasn't around I said I would have closed the door and waited for my neighors husband to come home. lol

Thank God I didn't because I know I would not be able to deal with it. Its so true what "they" say that "God only gives you as much as you can handle." You could handle it and as for me there is no way I could. God Bless you!

What a horrible experience! And quite right that it's not an image you want stuck in your head.
There are a lot of ways that cat could have been poisoned though. The most common one would be that somebody put out rat poison for rats and mice, and the cat ate the poisonous rat or mouse. Or maybe the cat just ate something that was bad for it.
Hasn't anybody asked where their cat is?
