This is a state park that on one side backs up to the white sand, and the other side up to the bay.
As you can see by the picture this is not a normal green park where everyone can run all over. It is a protected environment for our deer, black bear, and many more animals that find their way to this park.
To exercise we have a mile and half trail we can be deep in the woods for a bit then you come out by the bay.
As I walked, I saw two deer. The larger of the two walked off a little further trying to disclose herself.
However this young lady held her ground.
I very slowly approached her and spoke softly and finally managed to give her a few raw peanuts.
She ate them while momma is standing off in the distance and I could not coax her to come eat too.
I only have my cell phone with me but I actually got up to about a foot or so from her.
The doe knew I had more peanuts so she actually slowly walked up to me and put her nose in my extended hand. Unfortunately I could not multitask that picture and I was afraid hearing the click might make her bolt.
I love our park here for the natural affect and has not been torn down or done away with for more beach.
I hope everyone enjoys the beautiful closeup of this doe.

Snow white feeding all the animals nuts again! You get some exercise and get to be in nature also.
It's the best of both world. At first I thought there was a little bit of snow on the ground, and I then realized it was sand. How close you must have gotten to get a good picture of her.

If you look in the background you can see the bay of water. Yes our sand does look like snow LOL.
I will have to take a dunes picture for you and you would think its snow instead of sand.

That was a beautiful picture. That's my kind of walking trail, too. I love observing wildlife. As I said in my picture comment, we had a lot of deer roaming through our family camp at Campus by the Sea, Catalina Island on year. They seemed not at all afraid of people. My son was thrilled to pet them. (It's before we knew about lyme diseases and such.) One even stuck her nose in my camera lens. I took lots of deer pictures that year, but I don't know if any of them are still in condition to scan and share. That was back in the mid-eighties.

Well I guess my mother started me out with the love of animals. And as I left home it grew in so many ways.
My expertise in wildlife is Macaws. I handtrained many for shops until they were not allowed to come across the borders any longer.
Would love to see some pics you have.

I'm taking most bird pictures these days in my back yard when I water the garden. I fill a makeshift birdbath and then turn the sprinkler on. Next thing I know the birds start arriving. They play in the birdbath and run through the sprinklers. I've taken some videos of that, but haven't got them uploaded yet. I publish most nature pictures to my HubPages articles. I upload some videos to HubPages and some to YouTube.
