Like mehdi hasan, nusrat fateh ali khan was also a great sufi singer. Its he because of whom i started listening to sufi songs and ghajals. I listen to many of his great compositions like aafreen, piya re. Saanware, more sayyan etc. he really had a great voice that had some kind of divine essence into it.everytime i listen to his voice it soothes me. His knowledge of sur was brilliant.he has given outstanding songs to this world where we can relish every of his songs.one of his unbeatable composition is aafreen where if you focus on the lyrics of the composition make us feel that it has sung in the praise of god himself. Each and every stanza of the composition is beautifully sung by nusrat sahab with a urdu essence into it. And one great work of nusrat sahab that i like most is choti si umar from bandit queen. It has explained how a girl child forced to marry at ayoung age by her parents and describe her feelings. Its a heart touching song. I really admire him for his great work.

That was a nice tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan! People interested in music , especially Ghazals and soofi style singing can never forget this great artist! I agree with your review about the Numbers you have mentioned and I am impressed with your keen observation about the Ghazal sung by the great artist in the movie 'Bandit Queen' ! Thanks a lot for responding!
