There's no place like home. Cebu is where i was born, and in Cebu i'll adjourn. I loved the proximity of places to go around, most places to go for recreation, work, & socialize are just about an hours ride or less if you own your vehicle.
Tourism had been almost the single most influential catalyst boosting so much the local economy & its just scratching the surface.
Back to my original question, the only answer i can find is the feeling of it's my own place - the air, the language, the malls, the movies, Carbon, Colon, SM, AYALA. There are still very much lots of places in Cebu i haven't explored yet enough to last a life time.
I love Cebu.
Now, to you, what is it about Cebu you liked the most?

My dad said that my granny was from Cebu but I never got a chance to go there and my granny already passed away like 8 years ago. I'd love to go there and meet some of our relatives since I was born and raised in Manila.
Some of my friends already had vacations in Cebu and they said that they really wanted to go back since its so beautiful and the food is awesome. I hope after the rainy season my before the Christmas time I can go there to visit.

Appreciate the response. Glad to know you have with you the Cebuano blood, coming over down south to Cebu might be an experience of a lifetime, you never know.
Hopefully, you can explore that Cebuano side of you by going over places & see firsthand with yourself what makes Cebu unique. If i may, come over during Sinulog festivities, every 3rd Sunday of January it's guaranteed fun but be sure to come at least 3 to 5 days before the 3rd Sunday, terrible traffic congestion, fully booked lodgings, all over the place will be jammed to the max & if you could be with someone who knows the place would also greatly help you in many ways like going around traffic congestion or places to get safe quick foods.
No matter, buy the next ticket to Cebu and have FUN!

You're so right. I'm also a true blooded Cebuano, and there's no other place in the Philippines for me. I like visiting other provinces but I can't imagine living in another place.
Cebu City, in particular is not as busy as Manila, but not as remote as Davao or Zamboanga. The traffic situation is not as bad as in Manila, but transportation is not hectic, either. It's easy to find a vacation destination which doesn't require long hours of travel. The beach is just very near the city and even the mountains.
Furthermore, Cebu is not often hit by natural calamities because of its location.
