Until the phone gives up on me
Actually I don't buy my mobile phone, my dad always gives me one yearly but it already stopped 2 years ago since I felt like I'm old enough to buy my own.
So right now my E63 is already 2 years old. The oldest phone I have I think is my 6680. Its already 7 years old I think and its still working and my mom is using it right now. The other phones either I already gave to somebody else or my dad took them back so he can give it to another person.

I always get placed on the 2 year plan so I use a phone for two years before replacing it. Sometimes I want to replace it sooner since getting a new phone is always fun but then I remember that it would eventually become an old phone so I just don't change.

Ah I've heard about some people who do that. I would prefer to choose a phone that I Knew I really liked.

Since I don't need or want all the features of a SmartPhone, I have just a basic one that makes and receives calls. I rarely use it and have 5,000 minutes saved up to use. I haven't replaced it in 4 years. I had one before than and lost it somewhere which is the only reason I got a new one. I doubt I'll buy a new one for at least another year or two.

I used to know what is latest phone through the net.
But I am too frugal as other people say cause I don't change phone or buy new one as long as it is still working and functional. My last phone lasted for three years then broke last January due to accidentally fell in the floor.

Before I bought my current cell phone, I bought them every 2 years or so. Of course, that was when I was on a contract. Whenever I'd upgrade my phone, I'd give my husband my old one for his job. At least that's what I did with my last one anyway. Now that my husband and I are on prepaid phone plans I hope to keep it a lot longer than that.
Happy mylotting!

I buy a new one when the old one breaks or my cell phone account is up for renewal. Most of the cell phone companies give the best deals at that time. I like simple, tough, low tech phones, so I haven't had to pay more than 10.00 per phone for 6 years now-- and that's the way I like it. We also provide the no frills low tech phone to our employees in the field who don't have phones-- so the fancy kind would get very expensive very quickly. My assistant manager switches phones only after he reads a bunch of reviews, talks personally to owners of the phone he is considering, and checks out how much more he could do with the new one compared to the old-- so he has had the same phone for 3 years, because the newest add ons don't justify the huge price tags

I buy a new one when my old one breaks LOL. Actually, that and when my account renews are the only times I get a new phone. The type of phones I like, meaning very simple and low tech, are getting rare. When I find them I often by a pair so I have a spare.

I my current phone about 5 years ago. The newest was not new because it was just given to me by my sister when she got a new phone from her mother-in-law. I'll be having a new one next week coming from our company since I already returned and asked replacement for the one they issued 6 years ago. hehehe

I bought a new cellphone on September, 2011. It was my birthday gift. It is nokia C6-01. I can't repalce the cellphone for atleast five years. I like the cellphone very much. But after its purchase many new models were released. I had a plan to buy samsung galaxy note on exchanging nokia. But my mother didn't allow me as the nokia phone was presented by her. I am a college student now and my mother told me to buy a new cellphone only after getting a job. I will try to do that.
