They say that there is a strength relation between the amount of eating and the intellectual capacities of an individuel. As a matter of fact, when people eat too much, they become unable to think correctly!. I personnaly when I eat over the average (haha), not only I get confused, but also I lose all my contration and become incapable of doing simple things like understanding correctly what I'm reading or analysing..
So, does such situation happens with you guys? if yes, do you enjoy it and how do you deal with it ?

I totally agree with you ryanong. It would better to enjoy eating rather than desturbing ourselves with some thinking issues while our meals. More, I believe now that the fact of eating and working at the same time won't serve either the aims of that food or the goals of that work. So, we should respect the time of eating as we should specify it to be just for it and for nothing else.

ha ha... I never heard this thing but really is funny. Maybe the body's resources are going towards the digestive system and our thinking capacity reduces ? :P
Well, I have encountered such a thing with me so I don't know if that applies with me, all I know is that I tend to sleep if I eat a lot.

When I eat too much, I experience drowsiness. Maybe that's why when you eat too much, you find it hard to concentrate on thinking. Actually, health experts recommend eating small amounts during the course of the day, as opposed to eating only 2 to 3 times a day. This ensures that your metabolism increases, plus you don't find it hard focusing on thinking.

The solution that experts come up with sounds to be very efficient to solve this problem. In fact, spreading times of eating on the whole day with making sure to take only few amount of food is a promoting way to practice our thinking activities without facing any troubles with digestion.

I am on the fence with this one. I think multitasking in general is hard so eating while doing something will be a little harder than just one thing or the other.
There are instances with me though when I mindlessly eat. Like when I am in a rush or when I am watching a movie. I won't even notice that the bag of pop corn or bar of chocolate was already consumed.

I guess I have read one time about an author who says that we think better when we are not totally full of food. Personally, in my case, it is true to me. I think better when I eat little rather than overfed. Therefore, it may be true to many of us, if not all of us. In fact, I know and believe that eating too much is not only affecting our mental prowess but also other areas like our physical well-being, our emotional part, such that we are unable to perform at our best.

Yes,I too had such experiences in the past.I had learnt from my doctor that all our bodily functions are related to one another. It is the prime reason why we are unable to think and concentrate when our tummy is full. What i do when i overeat due to my love for the food is quite simple,I try to be away from activities like reading and just concentrate on an activity that needs the slightest amount of concentration ie.SLEEPING.Laugh out loud

Hello vaisumon!. I like your method of dealing with such a situation: Sleeping and laughing out loud sound pretty good to me. Your doctor has pointed to a very important point. Anyway, I hope that we would organize our eating habbits so that we won't fall in such situation. After all, overeating is bad for our health.

I think the relationship between eating too much and mental capacities is that if one puts too much sugar into their body, the body gets tired and it would be hard to use the brain. I personall always fall asleep in class after lunch (or at least find it hard to pay attention). I'm trying to eat healthier and moderately now to keep my body in shape. Even if it isn't harder to think when one eats to much, in the least it hurts our bodies and when one is worrying about health, it is harder to concentrate on work and school.

There is an interesting correlation if you look at a certain way. There are many times where if people keep an ideal mind, they keep bored. Therefore some people are going to be bored and thus they are going to eat. That is really just something that is really a problem with many people, where they just eat for lack of anything better to do.
That is why I try and keep my mind busy a lot of the time, not really breaking my focus even for the barest second. You never know when your mind could be something that could really just stray off right at the moment. Then you start thinking about how much you crave this food and that food. So really, an intriguing connection that could be rather developed between the two. Not true all of the time but something to consider.

Hi OYouness!. Actually, this situation happens to me almost every time I exagerate eating. In fact, there is a scientific research that has shown that when people eat that much, the whole energy of the body goes the digestion process. And since the humain body won't use all the components of what we have eaten, it becomes a priority for this latter to get rid of what is above its needs. As a consequence, we find ourselves in a state of lack of stability and complete disconcentration.

Hello OYouness. I like the part concerning the scientific research, that clarifies things to me. And thank God that is a normal state and that there are other people who experienced the same thing. I think that what would be more adequate to do is to control our eating habbits. That will help us to avoid all those problems.

Ha ha...if it is so then may be i have stopped thinking before 4 years.Cause before from 4 years i am eating a lot.
But i think there is no relation between the amount of food you eat and thinking.Actually the thing is that nothing over is not good for your health. If you eat a lot then you will feel very tired or lazy but if you eat an average amount at that time your body will be flexible and you will not feel sleepy. So you will feel better for thinking.
I think my above words make sense..right?
:)
