I have been taking online courses for awhile now. This one course right now is report writing nd communication. There is no final exam but each week is suppose to be an active student discussion. Each student starts two discussions and you carry it on. Im getting so frustrated right now, last weeks discussions noone responded to mine, and I responded to everyone but nothing more. Im sure Ill get the grades but its like talking to a brick wall. All these individuals work together at a TD bank in toronto in the fraud department. We all did an intro on ourselves. They dont seem to have exciting lives, if you dont want the course dont take it. I work 3 jobs right now, plus keep up with my social life, my animals, and this course as well as have time to do things as MyLot so I cant see how these people are so busy they cant contribute.

It may be that they are required to take some kind of class to meet a requirement for work.So they all took this one together. On the other hand you are taking this class because you choose to. I do not know why they would not try to do their best.

I agree I just dont understand you are taking it why not put some effort. There is myself and another lady who is always on time, and responding whereas the others are late, and never responding last week I got 0 responses. All fo them but 2 of us work in the same office, and I do think its for their work.

Back in my school days, a few times met with such people but thankfully there awere still others who are so cooperated.(^^)For those who dis not want to contribute we just left them and proceed with the task. Yeah, they will get free great score but if we let the teacher know they will not going to get. I am not sure how you are given a score but if they can't take part then you should let the supervisor know about it.(^^)

But... but... that would require them to think... that might hurt their brain!

Hmm, when I was in discussion in my course, honestly, I can't contribute much otherwise I listen attentively to others discussion. Maybe I just don't have much idea going on on my brain, or I just can't contribute much. Maybe it is not that they don't like the course, probably they just couldn't think of something to contribute at the moment. So, you eventually got your grade, you still pass the course, don't you?

It seems that you are under a unfavorable situation. I am wondering if there are any people who are in charge of the discussion group and give the students scores based on their performance on the discussions. If there is one, then you may voice your feeling to that specific person and I'm sure that you may get a warmer feedback from there and I'm sure that that person may judge your performance subejctively and how those other students react to you will not have too much influence on your course outcome. So just calm down and do you best.
