Well, since kinder the first day of school is not so formal. Its what i call hi hello day. Cuz, whether it is your first time or not to enter a class , the first day seems to be a day made to greet friends classmates and everyone around. Even in college. So sometimes i don't want to attend first day of class. But since i have lot of friends, have no choice but to meet them on the first day. Of course just to say hi-hello then the conversation will follow.
Is it the same with other country? The first day seems to be 'just first day'? And what do you do on yout first day of class? Lesson landed on your boards already ? Or assignments? I wanna know. Just curious.

hi,
for me first day of school is a shy stage mode especially in college level, because you will meet other students from courses every subject i that i have,so the first i could do is to say hi and hello to them until i get close to them.usually first day is i am not really ready to study, maybe give me a week to capture all discussions in the room.

It has been years since I've been in school, but I do remember that in college, the first day of classes was about meeting your professors and also going over the syllabus for the course.
Now, I have a daughter that will be starting fourth grade in the fall and a son that is going to be going to school for the first time. From the years that Kathryn has been in school, I've seen the first day of school is about going over the rules and expectations and also getting back into the school routine.
