I wanted to learn spanish and I went to the local library and got rosetta stone... it is amazing and you can learn at your own pace. It comes with a pc cd and book to follow along with. It is self explanitory and easy to use!!! It helped me greatly before we went to mexico. Now I can say I am pretty darn good at speaking spanish. I loved it so much I just went to the library last week and picked up the german version

well rosetta stone here we have to call like an 800 number on the tv to get it so it may be diffrent other places but i am sure that you can type it into the search on the internet and find it. it may be possible to order it online if that is something that you dont mind doing. other than that i do not know much about it but i will try and look it up for you when i get some time but until i hit 500 posts i am unable to post links to it lol

i took french in high school because i was dating someone who was fluent in the laungue but then i was stuck to do it on my own. i am not very good at it now tho.
about 6 months ago i wanted to do the same by learning it online. all i did was type in "free english to french translation" once i did that i was given a whole list of options. find the one that best helps you but there are some really good ones on there. also there is a way to listen to them say it also.
i know that probably isnt much help but i thought i would try. you can type anything into the translation box and it will translate it the best it can. i will tell you tho that some of it is not 100% because i was talking to that friend again and he had to correct some things but he said it was close enough that he knew what i was saying.

I never tried to do that on line but I tried to learn Spanish as self-taught and at the beginning it was not so bad. Anyway I found that without a native language teacher is very difficult to learn something else than the simple grammar. Even the pronunciation would be approximate.
Would this class be interactive? I mean would be there a teacher in person on video or listening to which you can learn or better if you can ask him/her any of your doubt? When I was studying Spanish I had a lot of doubts and I could not ask anyone, it was frustrating.

there is a website that I found that has this audio thing and when I wanted to hear how it is spoken I would just press a button. but i also do think it is really nice and different and more interactive if there is a teacher but then it is also expensive.

Hi friend, learning a new language always gives fun and enjoyment. Once i tried to learn Hindi from an online site, but the course is not going well, it is boring and i discontinued it. In my opinion learning a language from a direct person is better than online learning

yes you are correct, learning from a direct person is more effective but my problem is that I dont have the money to enrol in a school or hire a tutor so I have to make do with what i have and can afford.

I am learning Russian online. At first I was going to take an offline class, because I thought that would be the best way to learn it, but when I discovered the prices of those classes I changed my mind. It is too expensive for me to take an offline class, so I study online instead.
I found a free programme that I was able to download, and it is a great way to learn the language. There are different levels to choose from. I am still a beginner, so at the moment I stick to the multiple choice questions, but when I get better I am going to use the other questions. Some time ago I started a discussion about the best ways to learn a language online and I also got some useful links from other members. I combine those links with the programme that I have downloaded. Good luck with your French studies
