At my place, we can place certain unwanted items at the dedicated containers which are normally located at the road side for collection, recycling and to help those who need.
Recently, few of those charity organizers complained that some people especially the foreign workers asked their children to crawl into the containers to collect whatever their need.
I personally disagree to this complaint because the main purposes of those recycle items are for those who need and those foreign workers are part of those people too.
In fact, those people are collecting those recyclable items directly from those containers and they can save the trouble to go through the charity organizers.
I hope the relevant charity organizers will understand their actual main goal.

Hello ForSouls1234,
You should bring those donated items directly to the orphans and so on. Never try to go through those containers because those organizations are trying to earn for living too. From my understanding, those organization can afford to maintain few large trucks and many foreign workers to work for them at my place.

Cher913,
The monthly expenses to purchase and to maintain those cameras and recorders can be used for donating to the charity. I am puzzling if those organizations are totally using those funds for the charity or not.
At my place, many people purposely leave the donated items at the side of the containers. This is to allow those who need to collect those items too.
For instance, I have seen a very poor single father who collected the clothes at the side of the recycle containers for his two children to wear. This single father is staying somewhere near to my place.
Let's make clear about our final goal or intention in our donation.

I know what you mean. I had a problem with a man who did that. I lived across from one of these bins called Kiducation. He would come everyday in his car and literally drag the bags out of the container.
I even called the police one day and they said they would go and talk to him but I doubt they did anything to him. What finally got me to call the cops was when I realized I had put in some very nice items in there that were intended for CHILDREN and not HIM. I imagine they went home with him and he sold them, terrific. Still annoys me.

We also have separate containers near big supermarkets or other places where you can go easily to take what you have. I know one of them is glass because that´s what I take to those places. Fortunatly, here people would feel very much ashamed if caught stealinmg from there. One of the bins is for burned children (the one where you place glass). The other have important charities too.

The main goal of this donation is for helping those who are unlucky and only those who are unlucky have to force themselves to use those used clothes, shoes and so on.
Without covering the expenses of the organizer, I am sure the amount of the fund or the donated items will serve the purpose better.

Then it is quite different than what happens in my country. Here many people use second hand clothes, and they are not always poor. I recycle and hand down to my family and friends. There are also used clothes stores that sell very good clothes at incredible cheap prices. When I want to donate to institutions, I call directly to a senior home that needs help or a home for teen mothers (as an example).

We do wear used clothes, but it is only within a family.
For instance, an elder brother will leave his unsuitable clothes to his younger brothers to wear if those clothes are still in very good condition. Donation of clothes will only be considered if none of the members of a family want them.

I understand that the foreign workers need the items but its best if they go to the charity organizers since these organizations already does the separation of the items and might be cleaned by them as well.
I think its going to be dangerous for the children to crawl inside the containers. Its sad that these parents allow their kids to be in a dumpster like container we'll never know what will happen to the kids when they are inside the container.
So for me the best is for these workers to just go to the charity organizers.

It is really dangerous to ask the children to crawl into those containers.
About those charity organizers, they need to collect the funds to cover their huge monthly expenses as their large trucks and workers too. Only certain percentage will go to the charity.
As such, I do not think they will easily surrender those donated items to whoever asks for.
If you read my comments on the earlier response, our local people here leave their donated items outside the containers. ha! ha! This is for everyone to collect those items.

I realize of this problem too.
Some of the unwanted items which were thrown outside the container and fell into the drain. When there was a heavy rain, the drain was clogged and those overflown water caused flood at that area.
Sometimes, the donation container was full and the public just left their donated items scattered outside the container too.
In my advise, the relevant charity organize should clean his containers more often and once there is a complaint about the cleanness from any of the residences around that area, this container must be removed as a punisment.
