Yes I also have the same doubt. I like rain. I always want to play while raining. I also want to take bath in rain. My parents don't allow me to play in rain. They always say that if I play in rain, I will suffer from cold. Sometimes there reason may be correct but the enjoyment is much more greater than suffering. They don't understand this.

I love a good thunderstorm, provided it's not too loud and obnoxious. I get scared when it's continuously loud and banging, but I do also enjoy it. I think it's the fear of damage done, and possible injury that scares people.

People where I live are happy today because the sun is shinning and the temperature is around 20 degrees. They think it will be rainy on Thursday and Friday of this week. They feel that is miserable.
The weekend before last had a storm and very strong winds. Damage happened to many people's fences and some of mine came down. I had to pay one hundred and twenty pounds to get it mended.
My disabled son has a wheelchair and it doesn't have a rain cover. Walking to school in the rain is no fun. He has a small umbrella which he can hold except when it is very windy. I prefer dry weather but wet weather is great for my plants in my garden. I love seeing a rainbow.

I dont find it cowardly to be wary of lightening. I enjoy different aspects of the lightening, the amount of power thats involved. It is bad when lightening kills, however, I dont think about that along the lines in relation to other killers, such as cars which kill alot more people, and even food.

Hello Labrat
I imagine that there are a variety of reasons that people fear bad weather. Such as having your home demolished and family members and pets and friends killed. Such as having your home flooded and losing everything you have because the insurance doesn't cover water damage. Such as having your best friends' head lopped off by a piece of flying debris. Things like this tend to make people suspect when the storms approach.
Then there is the stress that it causes some pets who freak out during a storm. Their owners may not be afraid, but they don't like to see their beloved pet so upset.
I enjoy a nice 'safe' thunderstorm that doesn't involve tornados. I enjoy sitting under a porch with a tin roof and listening to the rain on the roof and I enjoy the coolness that these storms can bring on a hot day.
But I fear the damage that a really bad storm can cause, and I think it wise to treat 'bad weather' with respect.
Peace
I Love the World!!
