In a thrilling encounter England beat Sweden 3-2 to move into the second place in group D. Though from a pure footballing perspective both teams played poor quality, the match was a thrilling one. England took the lead through Andy Carrol who justified his start with a fantastically headed goal. But after half time, Sweden came back hard and it was the old bones of Olof Melberg that got them back. His first strike was deflected into the goal by Glen Johnson to level things, then few minutes later Sweden went ahead with another well taken goal from Melberg. Incredibly, England came back once Theo came on the field. Theo took a well hit goal, though the goalkeeper should have done better. Then Theo's pace set the next goal which was cheekily back-heeled by Welbeck to win the match for England.
With this win, England keep pace with France and Ukraine for a place in the knockouts while Sweden are now out of the running for the knockouts.
Cheers!
Ram

Yeah England won ole!!! I also watched the mach. And I could say that this was one of the best matches this year. I am for England and when the score was 2-1 for Sweden I was just... But when it was 3-3 for England I was really happy. The team that I wanted to win just win. Hope they beat the first place!

Yes friends , it was one of the interesting matches of the Euro cup 2012 . The goal lead were changing with moments. That is why football is such a different game. I hope these kind of thrillers would be coming in the next matches too .

I saw this match. All I can say is Wow! I am too new to notice it was a badly played game I guess. It definitely had drama! Now I have to ask , will England go any farther?

It's always a stressful experience watching England play but I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Roy is a LUCKY Manager for us!"
Trust me!

Yes, I thought they were "inspired" substitutions as well and it's a good job the cat wasn't on my lap when that 3rd goal went in!

Boring boring England has suddenly came alive. But still I am not convinced of their credentials. A couple of good results later and the British media will hype up their chances. That is when the Three Lions will start flapping again. It is proven that they are not capable of performing at the highest stage when the spotlights falls on them. And knowing the media, rest ensure they will allocate many rolls of newsprint either hailing a golden generation or talk up their chance.

Hello ram_cv , definitely it was just a thriller. I was very happy when England got their first goal by Andy Caroll. But after some time Sweden played well and they made a great come back in the game. And then England made a dramatic come back in the game. All the credits goes to Welback and Walcott . I hope England will perform much more better in the coming matches .

It was an enjoyable as well as nerve wracking match which, thankfully, England won. I thought that we were going to blow it when Sweden went in front but Walcott changed the game when he came on with his pace and may have earned a starting place when they play Ukraine.

Amazing game. 'Thriller' is the right word. Kept us on the edge of our seats till the last minute. For all England supporters, it ended well.
Theo Walcott provided relief to everyone when he scored a blinder to equalize 2-2. Then, he does it again, providing an excellent cross-in to Danny Welbeck, who just somehow managed to put the ball into the back of the net, when he wasn't even looking in the same direction.
